Rudransh's eyes bore into hers, a silent storm brewing within their depths. Isha, feeling the intensity of his gaze, instinctively pulled her hand away from Aryan's grasp, her heart pounding in her chest.
He stared at her, not moving his gaze for even a second. Isha looked down, fidgeting nervously. "I am sorry for the inconvenience, sir," she said softly, bowing her head slightly, unsure of how to handle the situation.
Rudransh's eyes hardened at her apology. He didn't like it—her apologizing burned him inside. She should walk with her head up. Nobody would dare to disobey her, not on his watch.
Aryan looked at Isha, then at Rudransh. "I apologize for the inconvenience, sir. It was not her fault. I was the one who distracted her."
Rudransh's insides churned at the thought that Aryan was the reason for her distraction ,the tension was palpable. Rudransh couldn't bear the idea of anyone else being the cause of Isha's distraction. His possessiveness was growing stronger with each passing moment. Ignoring Aryan, he focused on Isha. "You weren't there when I came back," he said, his voice low and intense.
Isha looked up at him, suddenly aware that she hadn't thanked him for helping her, even though she didn't really ask for his help. "I am sorry for suddenly going away that day. I had some work to do. Thank you for your help," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Rudransh's ears turned red, though his face showed no emotion. He felt giddy. What was wrong with him? These strange emotions were new, but the shocking thing was that he liked them. He felt at a loss for words, unable to form a sentence or find a topic to strike up a conversation. Moreover, she was looking at him with those doe eyes, and he couldn't get enough of her gaze.
"Hi!" Janhvi suddenly popped out of nowhere, startling Isha. Rudransh stood still, lost in Isha's eyes but glaring at his sister afterward when Isha's attention shifted to her instead.
"Hello, ma'am," Isha said, joining her hands in a Namaste. She gave Janhvi a small smile.
"What ma'am? Call me Janhvi," Janhvi said in a serious tone. Isha felt awkward; she didn't even know her.
Janhvi looked at her brother, who was glaring at her for making Isha uncomfortable. Janhvi suddenly understood that she had been too frank. Of course, Isha is her future sister-in-law. Her brother never looked at any other woman before, so who else could Isha be? She didn't even know her well.
"It's okay. I am sorry I was too frank," Janhvi said, trying to ease the tension.
Isha wanted to leave. Everyone was looking at them. She now knew that Rudransh was a very important and famous person. His presence, and the respect and fear everyone had for him, was proof enough.
Rudransh couldn't help but avert his eyes back to Isha. Whatever this feeling was, he was liking it. He had seen his father looking at his mother, his grandfather at his grandmother, with the same look, and he liked looking at Isha the same way too.
"Are you alright?" Rudransh asked Isha, his voice softening slightly, though his eyes still held a storm of emotions.
"Yes, I am fine," Isha replied, her voice steady, though her heart was racing.
Rudransh took a step closer to her, his presence overwhelming. "Good. If you ever need anything, you come to me. Understand?" His tone left no room for argument.
Isha nodded. Aryan watched the interaction, sensing the intensity between them. He knew better than to interfere further. Rudransh's protective nature was evident, and Aryan didn't want to provoke him.
Janhvi, sensing the need to diffuse the situation, spoke up. "Isha, why don't you join us for dinner? We'd love to get to know you better."
"Oh, I am sorry I am just a worker here, I have work to do so please enjoy the dinner and the function. Thank you" Rudransh looked at her, the word worker stinging him but now he will make sure to protect her, to make sure she knew she was under his watchful eye.
On the other hand, Vittoro was coming inside the venue after checking the security outside. He was on a phone call with a mafia boss who worked under Rudransh. It was a very important call, and he walked with hurried steps, still not losing his calm.
Someone suddenly collided with him, causing his phone to fall. "Oh, I am sorry," the voice said, bending down to pick up the phone. Vittoro only saw brown hair; he had important matters to attend to, not to look at someone's hair.
The person suddenly straightened, handing him the phone with a smile. Vittoro froze. The person in front of him was about 5'8" tall, with hair reaching his nape, almond-shaped hazel eyes, and a straight nose. It was the same man from the rain a few days ago—the man who had taken his breath, heart, and soul in just one glance. He had been trying to forget everything about him, but it seemed destiny had other plans.
"Excuse me," Vittoro came out of his thoughts, looking at the beautiful man in front of him. His chest felt warm, and all he wanted was to ruffle the man's hair and tangle it in his hand.
"Ah-ah, yeah-yes, I mean thank you," Vittoro stuttered, clearly flustered. He felt like he was seeing his college crush for the first time. "Thank you, uh..."
"Oh, Ishaan," the man replied.
Ishaan—what a beautiful name. Vittoro felt like kidnapping this guy and hiding him forever. The innocence oozing out from him was so captivating that he was afraid anyone else would fall for him too. It wasn't that he was afraid of competition; it was just that nobody would be safe even thinking about Ishaan.
Vittoro couldn't take his eyes off Ishaan, his mind racing with thoughts of how to keep this beautiful man close to him. "I'll get going then, bye. Nice to meet you" Ishaan gave him a big smile.
Vittoro's heart skipped a beat. "I'm glad too, I'm sure we'll meet again." he said, his voice low and filled with promise. He would make sure of it. Nobody else would even think about taking Ishaan away from him.
