The whole palace was tense. Rajveer Ahuja paced back and forth, his forehead creased with worry. His wife sat on the couch, crying her heart out, and Maya tried to calm her down.
"How can I calm down, Maya? I don't know how my kid is doing!" Sangeeta Ahuja cried out, clutching her saree pallu tightly to her chest. Her face was flushed, red from crying for three hours straight.
Isha looked at her, feeling sympathetic. No mother deserved this.
Kavya was missing.
She had been gone for the past eighteen hours. They had called everyone—her friends, close family, and even checked her favorite spots—but no one knew where she was.
"A family member missing in the palace... This news will surely create havoc in Rajasthan," Mayank muttered, looking at his cousin, Jeevan.
"Make sure none of the media finds out," Jeevan nodded, already on the phone. As the director of a major news channel, he was well-connected. Rajveer clenched his teeth, his anger building as he glared at Mayank.
"My daughter is missing, and all you care about is reputation!?"
Mayank shook his head, standing up. "It's not about reputation, Veer. People will panic." Rajveer clenched his teeth and took a deep breath, his gaze falling on Isha, who stood quietly in the corner, watching the chaos.
This girl... It's all because of her that my daughter is suffering.
Everyone was busy calling and investigating, unaware of his burning gaze toward her.
"Keep your eyes down, Mr. Ahuja," a deep, dark voice cut through the room. Rajveer turned to see Rudransh standing there, his eyes dark and fierce.
"Mind what you're looking at, or it might cost you your sight," Rudransh said, then strode toward Isha, who was standing in the corner with tense eyes.
"Hey, brother messaged—check if there's any news about this on TV. A channel got wind of it, and Bhaiya's having trouble keeping it quiet," Jahvni instructed, turning on the TV. She flipped through the channels, stopping when a report caught everyone's attention.
A dead body was found near the street 24 alley, the body's main part is shot and it's all fingers were cut from hand to toe. The body was brutally tortured and has various cuts in various part of his body.
Clarification of the body has been done, the man is Mr. Dhanraaj Kapoor , he was a close friend and businessman of Mr. Balraj Singhania.
Everyone stared at the screen, frowning. Kidnapping and murder in the same day? Ishaan turned his head toward Isha, who was gazing at the news with an emotionless expression. He quickly approached her, holding her at the same time that Rudransh did, each one supporting her from a side.
"Isha," Ishaan whispered, looking at her with glossy eyes. "I'm sorry." His voice was barely audible, filled with regret.
Rudransh's jaw tightened as he glared at Ishaan's hand on Isha, then pulled her close to his chest. Isha looked up at him and shook her head. "I'm telling you for the nth time, don't apologize."
Ishaan bit his lip, nodding stiffly. Rudransh closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, then scooped Isha into his arms. He carried her to the guest room on the ground floor. Once inside, he carefully set her down on the bed and sat beside her.
