Rudransh's gaze had been on Isha from the moment she entered his office, bringing his lunch. She'd arrived half an hour ago, and yet, she hadn't spoken much. She seemed... distant, her eyes unfocused, lost in thoughts she wouldn't share. The sight of her here but not really with him stoked an irritation that simmered beneath his calm expression. He'd already had more work to handle today, but now he couldn't stand it any longer.
With a click, he shut his laptop and strode toward her. Isha was sitting on the couch, still not even acknowledging his presence.
"Isha," he called, his voice low and commanding.
She startled at the sudden proximity of his voice, glancing up to find him standing over her. Quickly, she rose to her feet, looking around hesitantly before focusing her attention back on him.
"Yes?" she replied, her voice soft, almost down.
His jaw clenched at her tone, a frown settling over his features. He moved in closer, until his breath was warm against her forehead. "What happened?" he demanded, his voice rough and demanding, each word tinged with frustration.
"Kuch nhi," she mumbled, avoiding his intense gaze.
His frown deepened. Without a word, he took hold of her arms, pulling her close, his eyes searching her face as though trying to reach her unspoken thoughts. But she kept avoiding his gaze, the distance between them only fueling his agitation.
"Isha..." His tone was softer now, but there was a demand in it that made her chest tighten.
She hesitated, unsure how to put her feelings into words. The vulnerability of sharing felt foreign, and she didn't know where to start. "Please, just eat the lunch," she said at last, turning slightly as if to escape. "I'll head back home."
But before she could take another step, his grip tightened, and he pulled her back, her back pressing into his firm chest. His arms wrapped around her, keeping her in place as he leaned down, his breath warm against her ear. "I already told you, don't hide anything from me." His voice was a quiet, possessive murmur, sending a shiver down her spine.
He pressed his lips to her neck, the soft brush of his mouth melting her resolve. Her breath hitched as he planted delicate kisses along her skin, each one slow and deliberate.
"R-Rudra..." she managed, her voice shaky as he bit down gently, then soothed the spot with a warm kiss. A hazy warmth pooled in her, leaving her no room for coherent thought. Her hands clutched his arm, steadying herself, feeling the intensity radiate from him with each passing second.
Just then, his phone rang, breaking through the thick silence. Ignoring it, he continued to kiss her, his lips moving along her neck with soft, lingering presses. But when it rang a second time, he stilled, his jaw tightening in annoyance. Reluctantly, he took the call, his grip on her never loosening.
"Make sure I'm not disturbed when I'm with my wife, Mr. Mehta," he said, his tone hard and cutting. The PA stammered a quick apology before Rudransh ended the call, his focus returning immediately to her.
He lifted her with ease, drawing a soft gasp from her as he carried her over to the couch. Setting her down, he knelt before her, his eyes demanding answers she wasn't ready to give. Taking her hands in his, he intertwined their fingers, his gaze softening but intense.
"When you're down like this, when you don't talk to me..." His voice grew rough, and a hint of frustration bled through. "I feel like I can't breathe, Isha. My chest hurts, and all I can think about is you." Isha frowned at his words, a strange, unfamiliar warmth filling her chest. She didn't know how to respond, but before she could say anything, he leaned closer, his gaze locked on hers. "So tell me ....what's troubling you?" He felt like he had ran a marathon as he breathed heavily.
