Hao's stay in his hometown continued to be quite uneventful. The schedule for his stay has long been settled with first three days of rehearsals , magazine shoots, content filming and public events and then two days reserved for the fan meeting which his fans were so excited for, that a second date had been added.
The first day passed in a blur for Hao, he continued to message Hanbin every chance he got, which offered him so much comfort that he actually started to enjoy his activities, keeping a genuine smile on his face at all times.
In the evening while lying in his hotel room bed, he just couldn't help but think that even with everything that happened with his family, at least his hometown didn't change. Ever since the situation got so bad with his parents, he didn't think of ever coming back to the city he grew up in. It was hard to admit but he still liked walking through the lively streets , that he frequented when he was a teenager. A part of him also wished he could show it to Hanbin.
As thoughts of the other boy once again began to surface in his mind, he quickly decided to call him again. Sadly, no-one picked up on the other side of the line, which wasn't so surprising after all since Hanbin was probably still working at this time. A few minutes later Hao hears his own phone ring, immediately getting excited, thinking it's Hanbin calling him back. However he is surprised when his manager's name appears on his screen.
"Hello? Is something wrong." He asks already starting to create possible scenario's in his head.
"Sorry to disturb you again, you were probably resting. You are in your room right?" , his manager answers, sounding quite agitated.
"Yes I am, what's going on?", he asks nervously.
"I'd rather tell you in person, I'll be there shortly". After that sentence the call immediately ended and Hao is left in the quiet of his room, a crushing wave of nervousness building inside him.
A few moments later he hears a knock on the door. When he opens it, he is met with the sight of his panting manager, who must have been rushing to get to him.
Hao goes to sit on the couch mentally bracing himself for what is about to come, his manager follows him.
"It's about your family, apparently they tried to get into this hotel room earlier today when you were out for schedules. Luckily this hotel seems to have a good sense of integrity they didn't accept the bribes so they wren't let in, but I guess they're trying to stir up trouble."
His manager looks incredibly apologetic, which just makes Hao's resentment for his family grow. He knows how much effort his manager had put into protecting him from their reach, making the company be as discrete as possible about the schedules during his stay and sticking by his side the whole day.
"Don't feel bad, it's not your fault. They are crazy people, it was clear that they would try something. Let's just be glad they didn't manage to do anything" , he says as reassuringly as he could.
"It just makes me so mad , how shameless they are. Why can't they just give up", the manager responds, voicing Hao's own thoughts.
"Anyway", the older man continues, "we will increase security around the hotel and in general keep doing our best to keep them away."
