A few minutes later a car parks right in front of the café and the familiar woman clearly signals him to get in quickly.
As he sits in the car the woman lets out a small laugh of disbelief."So you just left the airport without any kind of plan?", she seems very amused by his foolishness.
"I guess so...", he quietly replies, feeling immensely embarrassed.
"Little tip from one traveler to another when you don't know how to start a spontaneous adventure, the people, staff and services that belong to an airport can usually help with that."
"I'm so stupid."
"No you're not, you just went through a lot today, it can happen, don't worry", she answers gleefully.
"So you don't think I have an incurable mental disease?"
She throws a fit of laughter at that. "Not a mental one. No..." She winks at him. "As soon as we get to my house, I'm awaiting some more details by the way. I still don't understand your situation, dear."
"It's okay, I honestly don't either."
"Try to rest a bit while we get to the house, I fear once my nephew meets you, resting will become an unfamiliar concept."
Hanbin lets out a small chuckle. He likes kids, he even used of dreaming to become a teacher.
After a little while they reach a little house a bit outside the city. It's a nice little home with a well kept little garden, in other words the perfect family home, which matches the way the elderly woman had talked about her family.
Once inside the house Hanbin is met with the sight of peaceful chaos, there are pictures and little knick knacks scattered absolutely everywhere, all of that is coupled with the smell of home cooked food.
As soon as he walks trough the door, a little boy rushes towards him in sheer excitement.
"This is my Nephew, be polite and introduce yourself to our new guest.", the woman next to him says, the last part clearly directed to the little boy, as she switched to talking Chinese.
"Hello, my name is Ollie. I'm 15 years old. Who are you? You aren't Chinese right?" the boy answers cheerfully, suddenly talking in English.
Although Hanbin's English skills are far from fluent, he makes the effort to come up with any vocabulary he can remember to properly engage with the boy. "My name is Hanbin, I'm Korean, so no I sadly don't speak Chinese. It's very impressive how well you can already speak two different languages. I'm really envious."
The boy grins proudly, answering with a tiny smug smirk. "I'm very smart. Auntie Liu always says so , too."
Hanbin is baffled listening to the boys reply, he just spoke Korean, it was a bit clumsy but impressive none the less. Also being stuck in the labyrinth of his mind, he only registered now that he never asked for the woman's name. He shoots her an apologetic smile, feeling immensely embarrassed.
"It's okay, I didn't think of introducing myself either. I try to teach him Korean whenever I visit. He has a talent for languages I guess, seeing how easily it sticks with him."
"It's still quite early in the day, how about you take a bit of time to rest, take a shower if you like? I know I always need to wash off the plane ride to feel comfortable again. I'll prepare some snacks in the meantime."
"Yes. Thank you so much. Really for everything. I would be completely lost without you."
"Ollie, show him the guest room, please. Take your time, honey, it's been a stressful day so far."
Hanbin follows the little boy up the stairs to a spacious room."Your aunt told me it's your birthday tomorrow. Are you excited?."
"Yes! It will be the best day ever. I can't wait."
Hanbin chuckles finding the younger's boy innocent excitement very adorable. The boy shows him the guest room. In the middle of the room sits a giant soft, comfortable looking bed. The room has its own bathroom attached to it.
There is thoughtful expression on the boy's face as he continuously contemplates Hanbin. "I feel like I recognise you from somewhere but I don't remember where."
Hanbin just shrugs it off. "I think you're mistaken, it's definitely my first time traveling here."
"Hmm, right..." the boy responds not sounding quite convinced, leaving him behind walking back down the hall.
He quickly washes up, realising how tensed up he had been, as the hot shower water finally grants relief to his strained body and mind. He changes into new clothes from his suit case and eases into the bed.Although he feels way more relaxed, he can't shake the worry he feels for Hao completely. He still feels the desperate need to see and hold the celebrity again. It just doesn't sit right with him knowing he is somewhere in this city but still completely out of reach for him.
He rests a bit, but doesn't endure it very long in the quiet of the room. He is about to go back down the stairs when he hears a quiet vaguely familiar melody coming from one of the other rooms.
The door to the room is left wide open and Hanbin freezes up at the sight in front of him.
Ollie's room is plastered in Zhang Hao posters, the voice that pours out of the speaker also belongs to none other than the "celebrity-who-he-thinks-constantly-about-and-is probably-falling-in-love-with".
He must look like a shocked hamster because Ollie looks at him in confusion.
Apparently he also let out a small surprised scream without noticing it because a worried voice calls out to him from afar.
"Are you boys alright up there? Tea and Snacks are prepared come down if you want some!"
Ollie starts dragging him towards the staircase, as his stare lingers on the celebrity's face displayed in various variations across the room, his heart beating erratically.
