Hao has taken a quick shower, that wasn't so quick after all because he kept having to make sure his injured arm doesn't get wet. After fighting a hard battle against the fabrics, he managed to put on his fresh clothes, struggling a lot with the t-shirt part. He tried very hard not to squeal in pain, while putting it on with one arm.
Now comes the hardest part yet, he somehow can't seem to manage to dry his hair with only his left arm. He starts feeling frustrated again not wanting to admit that he probably needs help once again.
Right then he hears someone knocking against the bathroom door, and Hanbin's voice can be heard from the other side. "Zhang Hao? Are you okay?"
He opens the door and is now standing face to face with the other boy. Before he can even speak one word, Hanbin has taken the towel away from him and is guiding him towards a chair. He has no energy left to argue , so he just resigns and lets Hanbin take care of him. They have fallen in a comfortable silence as Hanbin softly ruffles Hao's hair.
"You're not complaining about me doing things for you anymore?" Hao gets asked.
He slowly shakes his head, "I keep loosing in these kinds of conversations anyway." He also just can't deny that it feels nice being taken care of, although he doesn't admit that part out loud.
"I'm glad you realised because I won't stop anytime soon." The way Hanbin speaks in his naturally soft affectionate tone, makes warmth spread through Hao's entire body.
Hanbin is standing so close in front of him that it makes Hao feel a little bit dizzy."Done" Hanbin whispers as his hands rest on Hao's shoulders.
Hao looks up at him and the other gazes right back. A weird kind of tension settles between them, neither one of them being able to look away. Hao can feel his heart hammering against his ribcage, probably beating so loud that Hanbin can hear it too.
Suddenly a timer goes off on Hanbin's phone, breaking the trance they had been stuck in.
Hao shudders from the intense glimmer that had been in Hanbin's gaze as they stared at each other. Even though the moment had been broken, the air around them still feels heavy with unresolved emotions.
"The food is ready." Hanbin's voice still doesn't come out more than a whisper. However just a moment later he seems to have recomposed himself as he takes a step back and speaks in his normal tone again. "Come, we should eat while it still warm." Not waiting for a response Hanbin pulls Hao up and drags him towards the eating area of the apartment.
Hao sits down in his chair , as Hanbin fills two bowls with the stew and places them on the table. In the time he had been in the bathroom, Hanbin had also cooked some rice for them. The smell of freshly cooked rice fills the apartment with a homy feeling, something Zhang Hao hasn't experienced in a long while. His home is nicely decorated but it feels too clean, he realises now that it misses a lot of personal touch.
"What are you thinking about?", Hanbin asks him while sitting down.
"Oh nothing", he replies, internally cursing himself for realising another aspect of his life being pathetic.
He should know by now that he can't fool the other that easily. "You don't have to tell me of course, but I know that it's not nothing. I need you to know that nothing you feel or think is irelevant."
Hao's heart swells, he is really going to go crazy if Hanbin continues to be so sweet to him.He considers telling Hanbin what's on his mind but before he can actually speak up, a low rumble emerges from his stomach. He immediately becomes red from embarrassment while Hanbin lets out a small chuckle. "Let's eat.", he says smiling widely.
The food tastes amazing which isn't surprising considering it's not the first time he gets to eat food made by Hanbin."What am I going to do if you ever grow sick of me, I don't think I could ever find someone who makes better food." It was meant to be a thought but he somehow voices it out loud.
"Are you telling me you would only miss my cooking skills, not the rest of my very amazing personality?" Hanbin raises an eyebrow , a playful pout appearing on his face.
"No!" I would miss every part of you, he continues in his mind.
"You don't have to worry though, I will never get sick of you , you silly idiot. What do I need to do, so you believe me that you're stuck with me, forever.", Hanbin answers with so much sincerity and affection in his voice that it almost makes the celebrity tear up.Hao doesn't know what he did to deserve, Hanbin entering his life, but he will forever be grateful to the universe for allowing him to meet him.
