Chapter 11: A Love Bound in Chains
Rena's POV
I woke to the sound of heavy footsteps. My eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, I couldn't remember where I was. Then it hit me like a punch to the gut-Filip had kidnapped me. I tried to sit up, but my wrists were tied to the bedpost with soft rope, not painful, but firm enough to keep me in place.
Panic swelled in my chest, and I pulled against the restraints, but it was no use. I was trapped.
The door creaked open, and Filip entered the room, carrying a tray of food. He looked calm, almost tender, but there was something cold in his eyes that made my heart race.
"You're awake," he said, setting the tray down beside me. "I brought you breakfast."
I stared at him, my voice caught in my throat. "Filip, let me go. This isn't right."
He ignored my plea, sitting on the edge of the bed. His hand reached out to brush a strand of hair from my face, the touch gentle but filled with a possessiveness that made me shudder.
"You don't understand yet, Rena," he said softly. "But you will. I'm doing this because I love you. You belong here, with me."
"Love?" I spat, the fear turning into anger. "This isn't love, Filip. You can't just take me and expect me to be okay with it."
He sighed, as if I was the one being unreasonable. "I'm not taking any chances with you anymore. You kept running away, Rena. I couldn't let you go on like that, making decisions that put you in danger."
"I was living my life," I snapped. "You don't get to control me!"
Filip's expression darkened, and for a moment, I saw a flash of the ruthless side he'd kept hidden from me for so long. "I do get to control you. Because no one else will keep you safe like I can. I know what's best for you, even if you don't see it."
He leaned closer, his voice softening again, as if trying to soothe me. "You'll see. In time, you'll realize how much I love you, how much I've sacrificed for you. This world is dangerous, Rena. I'm the only one who can protect you."
Tears blurred my vision. "You're scaring me, Filip."
His eyes softened at that, but the grip of his hand on my arm didn't loosen. "I don't want to scare you. I just want to keep you close. I need you, Rena. You're mine, and I'm never letting you go."

Filip's POV
Seeing her in my home, my sanctuary, brought me a strange sense of peace. She was finally where she belonged, even if she didn't understand that yet. I watched her struggle against the restraints, her defiance flaring, but I knew it wouldn't last. Over time, she would see that I did this out of love, that my actions were to protect her.
"I've set up everything you need here," I said, trying to sound calm, though my pulse quickened with the thought of having her all to myself. "You won't want for anything. But I won't let you leave, not until you accept that this is where you're meant to be."
Her tear-streaked face twisted with anger. "You can't keep me like this. You can't force me to love you."
"I'm not forcing you to do anything," I replied coolly. "I'm giving you time. Time to realize that no one else can love you like I do. I'm the only one who understands you, Rena."
She looked away, biting her lip to keep from crying again. It hurt to see her like this, but I knew it was necessary. Love wasn't always easy, and sometimes, people needed to be shown the truth.
"I'll give you space," I said, standing up. "But remember this, Rena-you belong to me. No one will ever take you from me again."
I left the room, locking the door behind me. My heart ached, but I knew I had done the right thing. In time, she would understand. In time, she would love me the way I loved her-completely, without reservation. She had to.
