Chapter 30: A Playful Warning
Rena's POV
I leaned against the kitchen counter, watching Filip as he scrolled through his phone. His focus seemed locked on something work-related, but I couldn't help noticing how serious he was-especially after everything with Friend and the wedding. The possessiveness had flared up again, stronger than ever. A part of me found it frustrating, but another part... well, it was kind of amusing.
"Filip," I began, a teasing lilt in my voice, "you know, you're really over the top sometimes."
He glanced up, a brow raised. "Oh? Over the top how?"
"You know what I mean," I continued, smirking as I leaned in closer. "You practically turned into a guard dog when Friend showed up."
Filip's eyes darkened slightly, but there was a trace of a smile tugging at his lips. "Is that so?"
I grinned, pushing a little further. "It's cute, though. You get all possessive. Like I'm going to run off with the first person who talks to me."
He set his phone down, crossing his arms as he watched me with that intense, all-consuming gaze that I'd grown so used to. "Careful, Rena," he said slowly, his voice low and filled with warning. "You're tempting me to remind you exactly who you belong to."
I raised an eyebrow, still smiling, but feeling the shift in the air. "Oh really? What are you going to do about it? Get jealous again?"
He stepped forward, closing the distance between us in one swift motion, and suddenly his hands were on either side of me, trapping me against the counter. His face hovered close to mine, his eyes locked onto mine with that same possessive gleam.
"If you keep teasing me," he whispered, his voice dropping even lower, "I'm going to shut you up."
I laughed, despite the quickening of my pulse. "And how exactly are you going to do that?"
In a flash, Filip's lips were hovering just above mine. "Like this," he murmured, before pressing his mouth to mine in a deep, commanding kiss. I gasped against him, caught off guard by how quickly he'd moved. His kiss was possessive, overwhelming, and left no room for argument.
When he finally pulled away, I was breathless. He smirked, clearly satisfied with my reaction. "Still want to tease me?" he asked, his voice dripping with amusement.
I bit my lip, trying to recover from the kiss. "I might be tempted," I replied, though it came out weaker than I intended.
His eyes darkened further, and he leaned in even closer, his lips brushing against my ear. "If you do, Rena, you know exactly what's going to happen. And I won't stop with just one kiss next time."
My heart skipped a beat, the mixture of playfulness and intensity sending a thrill through me. "So possessive," I whispered, barely able to hold back a grin.
"And don't you forget it," Filip replied, placing one last lingering kiss on my lips before stepping back, his gaze never leaving mine. "Now, go get ready. We have a honeymoon to enjoy."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, still trying to catch my breath. He had won this round, but I couldn't help but smile at how easily he flipped the situation in his favor.
As I made my way to get ready for our honeymoon, I realized something: Filip's possessiveness might be overwhelming at times, but it was also part of what made our connection so fiery, so undeniable. And while I liked to push his buttons, there was no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't trade him-or his possessive streak-for anything.
