Chapter 21: A Wedding Like No Other
Rena’s POV
The sun was barely peeking over the horizon when I woke up, my heart already heavy with the weight of the day ahead. I could hear the sounds of people bustling around, preparing for the grand event. The wedding. My wedding. But it felt more like an elaborate performance—an illusion crafted by Filip.
I stared at the gown hanging by the window. The golden light from the morning sun made the crystals on the dress shimmer, casting tiny rainbows across the room. It was beautiful, a masterpiece in every sense, but it wasn’t mine. It was Filip’s creation, like everything else today. The flowers, the decorations, the guest list—it was all his vision of perfection. And I was just another part of that vision.
I stood slowly, my feet sinking into the plush carpet as I made my way to the dress. My hands trembled as I reached for it. The weight of the fabric felt like a thousand chains. This is it, I thought. This is the day I lose the last piece of myself.
The door creaked open behind me, and I didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.
“You look beautiful already,” Filip’s voice filled the room, soft yet commanding.
I felt his presence before he even stepped closer. He moved like a shadow, always lingering, always watching. His hands slid over my shoulders, his fingers cold against my skin. I glanced up at him through the mirror. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, his eyes gleaming with a mix of pride and possessiveness.
“Today is the day, Rena,” he whispered, his lips close to my ear. “Today, you’ll be mine in every way.”
I swallowed hard, unable to find my voice. He guided me to sit in front of the mirror, where a team of stylists immediately began working on my hair and makeup. I barely recognized the woman staring back at me as they transformed me into Filip’s vision of the perfect bride. My hair was swept into a flawless updo, adorned with sparkling diamonds. My makeup was subtle yet perfect, every line, every shade meticulously chosen to enhance the image Filip wanted to present to the world.
“Is this really what you want, Filip?” I asked quietly, my voice barely a whisper.
He didn’t answer at first. Instead, he leaned down, his hand tilting my chin so I had no choice but to meet his gaze in the mirror. “This is what we both want,” he said firmly, his eyes burning into mine. “You belong to me, Rena. Today is just the beginning.”

Filip’s POV
Everything was perfect. The estate was a vision of grandeur—white roses adorned every surface, towering crystal chandeliers reflected the sunlight in a dazzling display, and the guests, dressed in their finest, had gathered to witness the union of power and beauty. My bride was the centerpiece, the crown jewel in the kingdom I had built.
As I watched her, draped in the gown I had chosen, adorned in the diamonds I had picked, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. She was mine. I had won.
The ceremony was set in the garden, a sprawling expanse of manicured lawns and delicate flowers. Rows of chairs filled with the most powerful people from my business empire lined the path that Rena would walk down. All eyes would be on her—and they would see what I saw: a perfect, obedient bride.
“Is everything ready?” I asked one of the wedding planners, my voice sharp.
“Yes, sir,” the woman nodded nervously, not daring to look me in the eye. “The guests are seated, and the music is about to begin.”
