It was the final dance practice before Seventeen's much-anticipated concert. The studio was alive with energy, the sound of the music echoing off the walls as the members moved in perfect synchronization. They had rehearsed tirelessly, and now, with just hours until showtime, they were ready to give it their all.
"Alright, everyone! From the top!" Hoshi called out, his eyes sharp as he watched his team closely. The beat dropped, and they launched into the choreography, their movements fluid and precise.
As they approached the final sequence-a challenging spin followed by a dramatic drop to the floor-anticipation filled the room. The members exchanged glances, their adrenaline pumping.
"Let's nail this!" Mingyu encouraged, a smile on his face.
"On three!" Dino shouted, counting them down. "One, two, three!"
They spun in unison, the music building to a crescendo. But as they dropped down, DK miscalculated his landing. A sharp pain shot through his side, and he groaned, clutching his torso.
The music screeched to a halt as the other members immediately sensed something was wrong. "DK!" Joshua exclaimed, rushing over. "What happened?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine," DK insisted, forcing a smile even as pain etched across his face. "Just a little... misstep. I can manage."
"Don't lie to us," Joshua said, concern flashing in his eyes. "That sounded serious. Are you hurt?"
"I swear, it's nothing," DK replied, his voice a bit shaky. "Just a little pain. We have a concert tomorrow! We can't let this mess up our last practice."
"But if you're hurt, you can't perform at your best," Woozi chimed in, stepping closer. "You need to be checked out."
"Really, guys," DK said, trying to stand tall. "I can take it. Let's keep going. I don't want to be the reason we can't practice."
"DK," Hoshi said, his voice firm yet gentle, "you need to take care of yourself. If you push through this, it could get worse."
"I'll just stretch it out a bit," DK insisted, attempting to breathe through the discomfort. "Let's finish this practice. I promise, I'll be fine."
The members exchanged worried glances, but they knew DK well. Once he set his mind on something, it was hard to change it. "Alright," Wonwoo said reluctantly, "but we're watching you closely."
As the music resumed, DK pushed himself, trying to focus on the choreography and block out the pain. The others rallied around him, determined to keep the energy up while keeping an eye on their member.
"Let's get through this together!" Dino cheered, throwing in a few extra smiles to lift the mood.
But as the practice continued, it became harder for DK to hide his discomfort. After another round, he felt his body protesting, and when they reached the drop again, he hesitated, falling out of sync.
"DK!" Seungcheol shouted, breaking off the music once more. "That's it. We're done for today."
"No, I-" DK started, but he could see the worry in his members' eyes.
"We're not risking your health for one more practice," Jeonghan said firmly. "You need to see someone."
"Okay, okay," DK relented, finally feeling the weight of his teammates' concern. "I'll go get checked out."
"Good," Hoshi nodded, relieved. "And then we'll focus on what's important: your recovery."
As they gathered their things, DK felt grateful. He may have tried to be strong, but he knew that Seventeen was a team, and they would face whatever came next together. They might have a concert tomorrow, but for now, his health was the priority.
