Ivy lightly huffed at her hair. Due to the braids they were in last night, they had become really curly and almost put Hermione's to shame. Her hair certainly looked pretty, though, it was just slightly untameable. She tucked some strands behind her ear again, knowing it was bound to continue annoying her.

"Could I have your attention, please?" McGonagall called out to the class. She stood from her desk, "Now, today we will be transforming animals into water goblets. Like so." She pointed her wand to a bird, "One, two, three. Vera Verto." The bird turned into a goblet before their eyes and everyone was surely impressed.

She walked towards the students, "Now, who would like to go first? Ah, Mr Weasley. 'One, two, three. Vera Verto'."

Ron nodded and cleared his throat, "Vera Verto."
His ugly rat squeaked as it transformed into a hairy goblet, its tail still wagging in its new form. Ivy had momentarily forgotten about his broken wand.

"That wand needs replacing, Mr Weasley," McGonagall told him as the class laughed. Hermione's hand flew up from beside Ivy. "Yes, Miss Granger?"

"Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets?"

Ivy was surprised by Hermione's question and looked over to see Davina and Daphne perk up too. McGonagall looked around at all the small, curious faces and probably felt the worry coming from them.

"Very well. You all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously. One did not." Ivy dropped her head, already expecting her next sentence.

"Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, Purebloods. Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now, according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle known as the 'Chamber of Secrets'. Though, shortly, before departing, he sealed it until that time that his own true heir returned to the school. The heir alone would be able to open the chamber and unleash the horror within. And, by so doing, purge the school of all those who, in Slytherins' view, were unworthy to study magic."

"Muggle-borns," Hermione sadly answered.

McGonagall pointed at her with her wand to indicate she was correct. "Well, naturally, the school has been searched many times. No such chamber has been found."

"Professor, what exactly does legend tell us lies within the chamber?"

"The chamber is said to be home to that only the heir of Slytherin can control. It is said to be the home... of a monster."

Ivy felt entirely uncomfortable being surrounded by so many Gryffindor's who all wore their house colours, cheering with pride for their Quidditch team.

Not only did she feel out of place, but she certainly looked it as well, being the only green and silver amongst the red and gold.

"You want me to what?" Ivy questioned, face scrunched at the noise.

"To help me create a polyjuice potion!" Hermione repeated, trying to be louder than the noise but not loud enough for anyone else to hear.

The black-haired girl snapped her head to her friend, her high ponytail swishing around, "Whatever for?"
