Akio Takahashi

Before I start writing Amaya's infinite Tsukuyomi dream, I decided to write background information about Akio, so here it is.

Akio Takahashi (高橋明夫 ,Takahashi Akio) was a chūnin of Konohagakure's Takahashi Clan and the father of Aiko Kobayashi. He specialized in Fire Release, but mostly used taijutsu in his fights.

Background
Akio was born to Toji and Emi Takahashi, both whom died during the Nine-Tailed Fox attack on Konoha. When they died, Akio wasn't as devastated as he thought he'd be, but he was determined to keep their names alive and make them proud.

While attending the ninja academy, Akio was one of the tops in class. He mastered ninjutsu after learning so much with his father, bringing it to the academy. While there, he befriended and developed a crush on Amaya Kobayashi, who later becomes his girlfriend. After graduating, Akio was placed on a team with Shingo and Amaya.

He was angry at himself after finding out that he was the one who got Amaya pregnant. This was most likely because he wanted to focus on his goal as a ninja, but there was no doubt that he cared deeply for the unborn child. When Amaya had the child, who turned out to be a girl, Akio named her "Aiko" to resemble love, most likely his love for her.

Three weeks later after the Nine-Tailed Fox attack, Akio and Shingo were assigned a mission to retrieve a special crystal that belonged to Kushina; the crystal was worth a lot and should not had been stolen. Amaya would have came along, but Akio told her to think of Aiko first. While on the mission, they encountered a rogue ninja who was disrespecting Minato, who was the Fourth Hokage, and his wife Kushina, whom both died during the attack three weeks earlier. Akio and Shingo got into an intense fight with the rogue, with Shingo being weakened to the point where he couldn't fight anymore. During the fight, Akio had been fatally stabbed in the chest three times, but didn't stop fighting despite Shingo's requests. When Akio unbelievably won the fight, he collapsed to the ground and silently promised that he'd look over Amaya and Aiko, resulting in his death at the age of 18.

Personality
Akio was known for his cool-headed and confident attitude by his peers, never going back on his word. He was also known to be stubborn at times, thinking he could do well without others. His stubbornness is similar to that of Kurai Onizawa and Sasuke Uchiha, both whom remind Amaya of Akio.

He showed jealousy whenever Amaya spoke to other guys, specifically Guy. At one point, Akio thought Guy was trying to steal Amaya away from him, so he tried getting Guy kicked out of the academy.

He is also shown to be quite challenging. When Obito called him a phony, Akio challenged him to fight him. When Akio won, he wasn't too cocky with the Uchiha, but instead congratulated him for trying his best.

When Akio became a chūnin, his personality didn't change much, but when it came to Aiko, he showed a soft side that his peers hadn't seen before. He even cracked a smile whenever seeing Amaya and Aiko together, much to Shingo's surprise.

Appearance
Akio was a tall, fair skinned man with black hair that reached his shoulders, that also happened to frame his face, and dark brown eyes.

As a genin, Akio wore a dark blue kimono with a black trim, dark grey pants, a shuriken holster on his left leg, the standard blue shinobi sandals, and black fingerless gloves. He wore his forehead protector around his forehead.

As a chūnin, Akio wore the standard Konoha shinobi flak jacket with a white long sleeves underneath, dark grey pants, that same shuriken holster on his left leg, black fingerless gloves, and black shinobi sandals. His forehead protector remained around his forehead.

Part ll
Birth of the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki
In Obito's flashbacks, Akio appeared as a genin.

Akio appeared in Amaya's dream after she was trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. In the dream, he is shown to have never died and is present in Aiko's life.

Trivia
• The name "Akio" means "bright". His name is the combination of the word "aki" meaning brightness and clarity, and "o" meaning husband and man. The last name "Takahashi" means "high bridge".

• His birthday is October 14th, which is also Sports Day in Japan.

• Akio wished to fight Kakashi Hatake to test both their abilities.

• While in the academy, Akio was secretly jealous of Guy and his use of taijutsu. After seeing that Amaya was impressed with him, Akio was inspired to use taijutsu himself.

• Akio tended to be a bully more towards Obito than Guy. This was most likely because of Obito being an Uchiha and Akio didn't like them as they thought they were better than the rest of them. He also found it weird that Obito didn't act like other Uchiha. However, he stopped messing with him after Amaya told him to do so.

• Akio hated the second stage of the Chūnin Exams, being the Forest of Death, but still managed to pass with the help of his teammates. However, he did better with the first and third stage of the exams.

• The first stage, being the written test, Akio knew eight of the ten questions. During the preliminaries, he fought against Asuma, who clearly had the upper hand. As a result, Akio lost and was frustrated that he couldn't be in the final round.

• At one point, Akio predicted that Aiko would be the most happiest and cheerful girl ever. When Aiko grew up, that was how she turned out to be.
