"You've got this, Lila," Leo says, his voice steadying me. "Just remember how far you've come."
Mia nods, her eyes sparkling. "You've worked so hard on this song. It's going to be amazing!"
I take a deep breath, my guitar resting comfortably against me. "Thanks, you two. I don't know what I'd do without your support."
As I wait for my turn, I can hear snippets of other performers, their voices filling the room. Each note reverberates in my chest, and I realize how much I love this atmosphere-the sense of community, the shared passion for music.
Finally, my name is called, and the crowd applauds as I step onto the stage. The spotlight shines down, illuminating the anxious expression on my face. I glance out into the audience and spot Leo and Mia, their encouraging smiles giving me the strength I need.
As I start strumming the opening chords, the nervousness begins to fade, replaced by a sense of purpose. I take a moment to let the music wash over me, grounding myself in the moment. When I begin to sing, the lyrics flow like a river, each word reflecting my struggles and dreams.
The crowd is silent, and I can feel their attention on me. As I pour my heart into the song, I see a mix of emotions on their faces-recognition, empathy, and encouragement. When I finish, the applause is thunderous, and I can hardly contain my joy.
After stepping off the stage, I'm met by Leo and Mia, their expressions filled with pride. "You were incredible!" Mia exclaims, wrapping me in a tight hug.
