Amid all the wedding planning, I find myself drawn back to writing. The emotions of the past year-Clara's move, Leo's engagement, my career-have given me so much to reflect on, and I pour it all into my music.
The songs that come out of this period are different from anything I've written before. They're softer, more introspective, exploring themes of love, loss, and finding one's place in the world. It feels like a new chapter in my creative journey.
As I play the songs for Leo one evening, he listens intently, nodding along with the melodies.
"This is some of your best work, Lila," he says after the last note fades. "You're really growing as an artist."
His words mean the world to me, and I realize that, just as Leo has found his place with Mia, I'm finding mine through my music.
