The day of the meeting with the record label arrives. I'm nervous, but I've made up my mind to stand firm on retaining creative control. I walk into the sleek, modern office with confidence, knowing that this is a pivotal moment in my career.

The meeting starts with introductions and small talk, but soon we dive into the details. I explain my vision for my music, making it clear that I'm not interested in becoming a manufactured pop star. I want my songs to stay true to my style-raw, emotional, and unpolished in a way that speaks to real experiences.

To my surprise, the label's representative is receptive to my concerns. "We're here because we believe in your talent, Lila," he says, leaning forward. "We want to support your creative process, not hinder it."

The negotiation continues for hours, going back and forth on specific terms. I make sure that the contract allows me to write and produce my own music, with only minimal input from the label. By the end of the day, I walk out of the office feeling both exhausted and exhilarated.

I've done it. I've secured a deal on my terms.
