After deciding to take a break from touring, I focus on writing new music. I've been in the studio for weeks, and one day, I receive a call from a well-known artist, Eric, who's interested in collaborating.
"I've been listening to your album on repeat," Eric says with a laugh. "I'd love to work with you on a track. I think our styles would complement each other."
The offer excites me, but it also makes me nervous. Eric is a big name in the industry, and working with him could open a lot of doors. But I also want to make sure I stay true to my sound.
After a few conversations, we decide to collaborate on a song that combines both of our styles-a mix of his smooth, polished production and my raw, emotional lyrics. The process is surprisingly seamless, and I find myself enjoying the creative challenge.
By the time the song is finished, I'm proud of what we've created. It's different from anything I've done before, but it still feels like me.
