The next day, I meet Clara for coffee. Over the past few months, we've grown closer, and I value her perspective. She's always been supportive of Leo and me, and I know she'll give me honest advice.
As we sit at our favorite café, I tell her about the offer and my hesitation.
"I think you're right to be cautious," Clara says after a thoughtful pause. "But I also think you're more than capable of handling whatever comes your way. You've been doing this on your own for so long, and you've built something real. If you decide to sign, you'll be going in with more control than most people do."
I nod, considering her words. Clara's confidence in me is reassuring. She's seen me grow, both as a musician and as a person, and her belief in my ability to navigate this new challenge gives me a boost of confidence.
"I just don't want to make the wrong choice," I admit.
"There's no such thing as a wrong choice," Clara says, her voice steady. "Every decision you make will teach you something. The only mistake would be not listening to your gut."
Her words stick with me long after we say goodbye.
