The first person I call after the meeting is Leo. He picks up on the second ring, his voice full of anticipation. "So? How'd it go?"
"I did it," I say, unable to keep the excitement out of my voice. "They agreed to let me keep creative control. I signed the deal!"
"That's amazing, Lila!" Leo exclaims, his joy palpable. "I knew you could do it."
We talk for a while about the next steps-recording sessions, promotional work, and how this new chapter will affect my career. Leo is as supportive as ever, reminding me that this is just the beginning of an even bigger journey.
After hanging up with Leo, I send a quick text to Clara, thanking her for her support during my decision-making process. Her reply comes almost instantly: You're incredible! Can't wait to celebrate this milestone with you.
Later that night, I sit in my apartment, reflecting on how far I've come. Signing with a major label is a huge accomplishment, but I know it's just one part of my story. There's so much more to explore, both in my music and in myself.
