As the applause fades, I feel a whirlwind of emotions. I'm exhilarated, proud, and even a little scared. As I glance around the venue, I spot my parents once again. Their expressions are still unreadable, but I feel the tension between us.

When I approach them, I brace myself for whatever reaction they may have. "Hey," I say, trying to sound casual.

"Lila," my mom says, her voice tight. "You were... very passionate tonight."

"Thanks, Mom," I reply, searching her face for any hint of approval.

My dad clears his throat. "We still don't understand your choices, but it was clear you put a lot of effort into this."

"It's my passion, Dad. I need you to try to understand," I say, feeling the weight of their expectations pressing down on me again. "I love music, and I want to pursue it."

My mom's expression softens slightly. "We want you to succeed, but we worry about your future."

"I can manage both," I insist, feeling a surge of determination. "I promise to keep up with my studies and my responsibilities at home. But I can't give up on my dreams."

After a moment, my dad nods, though I can tell he's still hesitant. "We'll think about what you said."

As I walk away, I can't help but feel a mixture of relief and frustration. They're starting to see my passion, but I know it will take time for them to fully accept it.

Later that night, I sit down with Leo and Mia to celebrate. We grab burgers at our favorite diner, laughter and conversation flowing easily between us.

"Lila, that song was phenomenal!" Mia says, her eyes shining. "I can't wait to see where this takes you."

"Yeah, you should consider entering a music competition or recording your songs," Leo suggests, his excitement contagious.

I ponder their words, feeling a spark of possibility ignite within me. "Maybe I will. I want to take this further."
