The cafeteria buzzed with chatter as Hoseok and Yoongi sat side by side, but at their table, silence reigned as the other five stared at them, jaws practically on the table.
“What?!” Namjoon, Jin, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook exclaimed in unison, their voices echoing with shock. Hoseok flinched at the sudden outburst, while Yoongi just rolled his eyes, seemingly unfazed as he continued eating his food.
Jimin chuckled after a beat, leaning in with a mischievous grin. “Wait, wait… How did this even happen?” He turned to Hoseok with a curious look. “When did you two realize you were in love? Spill the details!”
A shy blush crept across Hoseok’s cheeks as he looked at Yoongi for a brief second, his heart swelling with warmth. “Um… I guess I fell for him not long ago,” he stammered, twirling his fingers together under the table. “And… and last night, Yoongi confessed to me.”
Jungkook, however, was far from amused. He scoffed, crossing his arms as he gave Hoseok a skeptical look. “Hoseok, don’t you think this is a bit… naive? Yoongi’s up to something; he has to be.”
Hoseok’s smile faded as he frowned, feeling a pang of hurt at Jungkook’s words. “That’s not true, Jungkook. We… we love each other. Right, Yoongi?” He turned to Yoongi, a hint of uncertainty in his eyes.
Yoongi gave a small nod, reaching for Hoseok’s hand in a reassuring gesture. “Of course, I’ve already fallen for him,” he said smoothly, his tone soft yet confident.
Jungkook shook his head, his face twisted in frustration as he stood up abruptly. “I can’t deal with this bullshit,” he muttered, his voice laced with exasperation as he walked away from the table. Taehyung and Jin quickly followed him, trying to calm him down as Namjoon and Jimin glanced back, offering Hoseok a sympathetic look before joining them.
Hoseok looked down, sighing sadly as his heart sank. This wasn’t what he’d expected; his excitement had crumbled so quickly, leaving a lingering doubt that he couldn’t quite shake. If only he knew Jungkook was trying to save him.
