Two weeks later...

Two weeks into their relationship, Hoseok and Yoongi sat on Hoseok's bed, textbooks scattered around as they attempted to study for tomorrow’s exam. On the surface, things seemed well. Their friends, all except Jungkook, had gradually accepted their relationship. Jungkook’s lingering skepticism hadn’t gone unnoticed, but he’d at least tempered his outward resentment for Hoseok's sake.

However, beneath the facade of their new relationship, Hoseok felt a growing fear each time he was alone with Yoongi. It had started subtly—the first time Yoongi lashed out when Hoseok said he wasn’t ready for intimacy. Hoseok had tried to explain that he wanted to wait, but Yoongi’s reaction had been a grip on his wrist that left bruises and words that stung. Hoseok dismissed it, convincing himself it was an isolated incident. But then, the tension crept back, this time worse than before, a slap after Hoseok had held his hand in public. Yoongi had apologized after, saying it was only to keep his reputation intact. Hoseok, deeply in love, had brushed it aside, his mind numbing to the red flags.

Now, as they sat together, Hoseok was keenly aware of Yoongi’s gaze. He swallowed nervously, eyes fixed on the textbook before him. Yoongi reached over, gently taking the book from his hands, and leaned in, capturing Hoseok’s lips in a searing kiss. Hoseok let himself melt, tangling his fingers in Yoongi’s hair as Yoongi guided him down onto the bed. He felt Yoongi’s hands roam over his body, a familiar warmth and yet an underlying fear gnawing at him.

Yoongi trailed kisses down his neck, nibbling and sucking as he unbuttoned Hoseok’s shirt. Hoseok’s breath quickened as Yoongi moved to his chest, pressing his lips to his skin. But when Yoongi bit down roughly on his nipple, Hoseok flinched, drawing back with a small, pleading look.

“Yoongi… I—” he stammered, his hands shaking slightly. “I just… I’m sorry, I’m not in the mood.”

Yoongi groaned, frustration simmering in his voice. “C’mon, baby,” he said, gesturing down at himself. “Look, I’m really hard right now. Trust me, it’ll feel good.”

Hoseok’s eyes darted to Yoongi’s face, his voice barely a whisper. “I’m sorry, Yoongi. I just… I’m not ready.”

With a cold scoff, Yoongi pushed himself off of Hoseok, standing by the bed. “Fine,” he muttered, looking down at Hoseok as the latter buttoned his shirt back up. “Since my own boyfriend can’t satisfy me, I’ll find someone who can. Maybe we should just break up.”

Hoseok’s eyes widened as he scrambled up from the bed, grabbing Yoongi’s hands. “No! Please, it hasn’t come to that… I’m just… I’m scared. This is my first time, Yoongi. I want it to be special.”

Yoongi cupped Hoseok’s face, his tone shifting to something softer but still charged with undertones of frustration. “You know, Hoseok, relationships take effort from both sides. I mean, I’ve been patient, but there’s a limit. Don’t you think I deserve a little something in return? You say you love me, but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. You make me think I’m not enough.”

Hoseok’s heart clenched as Yoongi’s words sank in. He felt a heavy weight of guilt pressing down on him, twisting his emotions until he was questioning himself. He looked up at Yoongi, desperately wanting to believe that he was right, that he had been selfish, and that Yoongi deserved more.

“I’m sorry… please, just a little more time,” he whispered.

But Yoongi rolled his eyes, brushing Hoseok off before turning and walking out the door, leaving Hoseok standing alone in the room.

As the door clicked shut, Hoseok felt tears sting his eyes. His shoulders shook as he quietly cried, covering his face, each sob carrying the sting of self-doubt and confusion.

But this was only the beginning.
