Hoseok sat on the railing of the bridge, his legs swinging over the edge as he looked down at the vast stretch of water below. The cold wind stung his cheeks, drying the last of his tears as he sniffled, eyes fixed on the dark, restless waves. It would only take one slip—a small, final act—and he would fall, disappearing into the depths below, swallowed whole with no one to call out to, no lifeline to pull him back.

And somehow, that thought felt like peace.

He closed his eyes, his lip trembling as memories flooded his mind—the dreams he once carried with such hope and purpose. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. He had wanted so much, a life where he could shine, where he could build something for himself. But now those dreams felt like ashes in his hands, smothered by his own choices and the betrayal that had gutted him. The love he’d once held for Yoongi felt like a ghost now, a page torn and cast away. There was no going back.

A sad smile ghosted across his face as he thought of his friends, especially Jungkook—his Kookie. The one person who would understand his silence, who would miss him more than words could hold. He knew this would break them, but the weight was too much to carry anymore. His heart, his mind, everything was already numb.

A voice broke through his thoughts, distant yet urgent. “Hey! Get off there!”

Hoseok didn’t turn. He only took a deep breath, whispering a silent prayer for forgiveness. Slowly, he opened his eyes, feeling a tear slip free as he released his grip. He fell, the wind rushing past him, the water rising up to meet him. He barely registered the voice shouting, “No!” as he descended. Just a passing stranger, one who couldn’t save him now.

The impact with the water felt like surrender. It wrapped around him, pulling him down, the cold pressing hard against his chest, seeping into his lungs as he sank deeper and deeper. The world grew darker, and with every inch, his breath slipped further from him. His limbs felt heavy, his chest burning as water filled his lungs, stealing his last breath. Finally, the pain faded. And for the first time in a long time, Hoseok felt free. At peace.

Meanwhile, back at Hive International Schools of South Korea, a group of friends raced through the halls, their footsteps echoing as they made their way to Hoseok’s dorm. They knew he’d planned to leave for Seoul tonight after the expulsion, but something about the way he’d spoken last left them unsettled. They needed to see him one last time.

Jungkook reached Hoseok’s door first, nearly slamming into it as he threw it open, rushing in with the others following close behind. The room was eerily still. Jungkook’s gaze darted around, a pang of confusion filling him when he didn’t see Hoseok anywhere.

On the floor, a broken phone lay in pieces, scattered across the floor.

Jungkook walked over, kneeling down to pick it up, his brows furrowing as he cradled the shattered device in his hands. “Hobi…” he whispered, voice trembling as he tried to piece together why it was broken, why it was just left here.

Jin moved towards Hoseok’s closet, opening the doors and finding his clothes still neatly hung, his bags untouched. “His things are still here,” Jin murmured, more to himself than anyone else, his voice laced with worry.

Jimin swallowed hard, his gaze fixed on the broken phone. “Do you think… do you think Hoseok was the one who broke this?” he asked, his voice shaky, each word heavy with dread.

They exchanged tense glances, none of them daring to voice the gnawing fear that had taken hold of their hearts.

Namjoon’s voice cut through the silence, grave and steady, yet filled with a mounting sense of alarm. “If he’s not here… then where is he?”

The question hung in the air, sinking into each of them like a stone, and they felt their hearts hammering in their chests, each beat filled with a sense of impending dread.

Something was terribly wrong.

My poor Hoseokie😔
