Beginning of a new chapter
| Four years later |
Eira's pov
"Eira, be quick" Jasper called from our bedroom.
"Wait a minute" I called out from our bedroom, putting on my earrings. Today was my graduation from LAIAD. I glanced at the mirror one last time, smoothing down the fabric of my gown.
"Eira, seriously! We're going to be late!" Jasper's voice was a mix of impatience and excitement.
"I'm almost done!" I shouted back, fastening the last earring into place. The cool metal felt reassuring against my skin, a reminder of all the hard work that had led me here. I took a deep breath, my heart racing with a mixture of nerves and excitement.
I rushed out of room and Jasper was already waiting for me in living room. He looked incredible in his blue suit which matched my gown perfectly. "You look incredible, Eira!" he said, his grin wide and contagious.
"Thank you," he pecked my lips and then wrapped his arm around my waist. "But I am so nervous. I feel so out of place and small"
"Don't think like that. You have come a long way to be here, you have worked hard. You deserve all this" he opened the door and we both walked out.
"You are right but I feel so nervous. A lot is happening at the same time, my graduation and then my own firm. It is too much for me to wrap my head around" Jasper squeezed my hand reassuringly as we made our way to the car.
"You don't have to worry Eira," we stepped into the elevator together. "I am here with you in every step. And all the best things are happening. You have mended your relationship with your parents, today you are graduating and in the mean time you have built your own firm al by yourself. I know you can do anything"
"My relationship with mom and dad is still rocky" I complained. Over the last four years I have worked so hard to mend my relationship with them. There were many nights of disappointments but this man has always been by my side. Never once leaving me alone.
"Still you have come a long way" I leaned into Jasper's side, savoring the comfort his presence always brought me. The elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, and we stepped out into the lobby. Jasper opened the car door for me and I slid inside, clutching my gown nervously
"Ready" he asked starting the engine. I nodded nervously and he started driving, flashing me his best grin. We drove through the city streets. Jasper reached over, his hand warm as it covered mine, stilling my nervous movements. "Relax, Eira," he murmured, his eyes briefly leaving the road to meet mine with a reassuring smile. "Today's a celebration. Everything you've worked for is coming together."
I smiled, his words comforting. I nodded slightly and tried to relax in my seat. Finally we pulled up in front of LAIAD, a wave of memories washed over me. I smiled and stepped out of the car. Jasper came over to my side. "Let's go, Ms. Graduate."
"Ms. Graduate," I repeated, letting the title sink in. I took his hand, and together, we made our way to the auditorium where the ceremony would be held.
Outside auditorium Amara and Nate waited along with my friends. Tristan was also there, so he took time to come all the way from New York. I am so lucky that Jasper has such a supporting family and they have welcomed me into the family warmly.
Amara practically tackled me into a hug. "Eira! I can't believe this day is finally here!" she squealed, squeezing me so tight I almost lost my balance.
"Amara, careful! I need her in one piece," Jasper laughed, steadying me as I stumbled slightly under Amara's enthusiastic embrace.
I hugged her back just as tightly, laughing. "Thank you for being here," I whispered, feeling a lump in my throat. Seeing Amara, Nate, and all my friends made everything feel so real. "Specially you Tristan" I looked up at youngest brother.
