~~~~~~/Anna's POV/~~~~~~
Ever since Hailey's dress fitting, or even since before that, Lord Janna has been specifically requesting my assistance with things, and I'm unsure as to why. Like just know, she's requested I come with her to check on Hailey... No one else, just us. As we approach a well of magical power sweeps into my body. A familiar magical presence. Surely it's not Hailey's it's too... Strong. Yet, untamed. It feels like one, but there's a fainter presence. Suppressed magic.
"Alright, where is the hellish little mouse?" Janna asks, as we walk up towards Hailey's quarters.
Knocking aggressively upon reaching her door, she barges in with onely a moment's notice.
Upon entering I curtsey to Hailey, in respect of her status as a lord, but formalities are brushed aside by Janna, who begins berating Hailey.
"Hmm.. There you are. Heard you're still being difficult. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised." Janna announces.
"Just being myself, though I'd be a lot more difficult if I could use my magic." Hailey clenches her fist, furious. "Tell me, what kind of sorcery are you using to suppress my power?"
"Oh you must mean... This." Lord Janna smirks, pulling out an supsicious gem.
"How did you get that?" Hailey asks, baffled.
"That's not important. It's not part of this story. Yet. All that matters is that you marry my son. With more villages and towns under my rule, I can keep expanding my army. Soon we'll be an unstoppable force. Stronger than O'Khasis ever was."
"Hm! You wish." Hailey mutters, spitting on Lord Janna's image, not in the slightest bit impressed.
Watching like a fly on the wall, I spectate the entire interaction, not wanting to do anything to cause Lord Janna to be displeased by me and therefore remove me from her service. Although it's dangerous, being in her favour may be beneficial.
"Lady Irene will stop you." Hailey states, catching my attention.
My eyes dart to meet hers, worried. It's as if she's announcing to Lord Janna that Aphmau is here under her nose... Unless. Hailey's eyes dart to the closet, before going out the window, as Lord Janna dismisses "Irene's power". My eyes wander to the closet, slightly ajar. She's here. Memories click as the magical presence appears in my mind.
"You mean, Aphmau? Heh. She doesn't even own up to the name. She is nothing but a foolish woman with a relic. Nothing to be afraid of there. After all, I happen to know where another relic of power is as well." Janna explains.
"W-what?" Hailey stammers.
My eyes retract my focus from the emulating aura, and turn to Janna. A relic... Fury or Wandering. The Matron, Protector, Destroyer, and Keeper are accounted for with one of the Phoenix Alliance. I know which I'd prefer she had, but realistically it'd be better if she finds Kul'Zak's. It's less dangerous in the hands of an evil lord wishing to expand her kingdom.
"I've said too much. Now, get ready. You will be married to my son, today." Janna explains making her leave, gesturing me to follow.
I curtsey to Hailey, winking and gesturing to the wardrobe with my eyebrows. Hailey nods once, firmly, solidifying my assumption. I leave, following Lord Janna.
"Tsk. That girl will give me so much grief."
Lord Janna wanders around her palace on a mission to prepare the place for a wedding, organising everything, deciding the decor and everything, mean-whilst giving me a list of chores to assign the castle maids to do for the wedding. Specifically, getting more decorative linens to line the tables for the reception, request more candle's adorn the halls and that the audience capacity gains an extra two rows for last minute guests.
