Chapter 6: Commitment
Music: With All I Am by Hillsong Worship

Main Verse: 2 Timothy 2:15
[15] Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

We always did this for love. It always conquers all even if it is painful. What can we do to be committed? Are we into passion, dreams or looking for something that needs to be known? For you, what is the true meaning of Commitment? It is a pledge that needs an action in the future. Moreover, it is being dedicated to something or an obligation that restricts freedom.

Somehow, as we oversee the things even ourselves. Sometimes, we can't predict the real purpose of being committed. As an observer and doer of it, I can say commitment is a lot of things and thoughts that can't be expressed by a few phrases. It is not just proving with words but full of actions. After all, there are times it is not appreciated.

Yet, when I became Christian, I found myself that I have a personal commitment with Him.(Psalm 119:5) God taught me how to be a more responsible person, but one thing I am more serious about is His biblical commitment. Loving God with your entire being. I believe this is the most fundamental point that I need to focus on, He is the God of love. Love conquers everything. The setbacks and hardship in our lives aren't easy, we fail, we experience stress and different rejections. Still, we can fight this with God. We can become stronger once we live our life with Him.

This is important to God because it ignites our transformation, we develop our relationship with Him, we can interact with more people to build trust, moments and lessons as well.

Aside from that, He shapes and molds us into the best version of ourselves.

Commitment is not just being dedicated to the things you want to achieve in life, you also have a benefit for this. You can have perseverance, boldness to hold on God's promises, encouragement and support to your loved ones.

I want to share some insights that I have for commitment. There are five (5) C's.

1)Compassionate- As you continue pursuing those things that you have in your life together being committed with God. You are also kind and forgiving to anyone.
Read the context of Ephesians 4:32 ESV, [32] Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

2)Cooperative - You want to help others and have a common goal with wise decisions with God helps.

Let's read and remember God's word: Ecclesiastes 4:9, Philippians 2:2, Matthew 18:20.

3)Clear Mind - You can now focus on the things you are doing, active and lively. Read the context of 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV, [7] for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

4)Confidence- We can carry hard things, we keep on our faith and believe in God's blessings and power.

Read the context of Joshua 1:9 ESV,
[9] Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

5)Centered-Christ - We are more dedicated and want to be with Him. Our life already surrendered to Him.

Read the context of Psalm 16:8 ESV
[8] I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

These 5C's will help us to keep ourselves committed to Christ. And for me, I want to ensure my commitment with Him. Every day, trials test me and try to deceive me. Yet, I always pray for His guidance and strength to be with me. Also, if we want to be more committed, we need the wisdom coming from Him. Life is a great adventure, but spiritually, we always have a battle within ourselves. So, we must activate our faith with Him, emphasize the love that we have.

Commitment is forever, and as we step more, let's understand the biblical meaning of it. Commitment means that certain decisions are made in advance. Always rely on His words, and commit anything under His name. (Proverbs 16:3)

I will take more actions, I will remember God's promises for me and am giving my priority to God. I know, I make mistakes and forget Him sometimes, nonetheless. I will confess and come to Him with my humble heart.

'Cause the blessings of commitment are more of what we expected. It creates a foundation of trust, allowing the recipient to feel safe and grow the faith in the Lord.
