Chapter 14: Life
Music: Life by Hillsong United

Main Verse: ‭John 10:10 ESV‬
[10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Life is a great blessing. Life is something we want to achieve or conquer. All of us have different levels of life, some of us didn’t know what life is. Human life is only once, but there is a chance to experience a second chance. But all in all, there is only one life to be cherished.Life is meant to do fun things. Life that even though the various problems are contradictory, will still choose to fight and breathe, will not give up.

I remembered reading a quote today, the author Hellen Keller said, "Life is either a great adventure or nothing." After I just read this, I realized something, life is full of adventure, sometimes we experience happiness, sometimes sadness and sometimes just normal.

Life is a wonderful thing that God created, but for me life should be valued so that you can be closer to Him— deepen your relationship with God, enjoy life with others and experience a lot of this in this world.

When I was young, I always attended Sunday Bible School. One of my favourite stories there is about the tree of life. I know most of the children know and memorise this story. The story of tree of life is about the two first person created by God— Adam and Eve. They are the first people in this world. You can find this in the book of Genesis.

Tree of life there is a symbol of truth, abundant life and understanding of anything. That's why when Eve tried to eat the fruit, she realized something that she couldn't believe— she was naked. But before that Adam also tries it when her wife Eve asks him to join her.

The ending of the story of the Garden of Eden is that they found out the truth and were expelled from the Garden of Eden because of their disobedience to God.

Like us humans, we literally hold our lives but God still knows and controls them. So no matter what we go through, He is with us.

It's good to look back at the story of the Garden of Eden, even though there was disobedience, God's love will not be lost and the life he gave for them.

Later on, I am now Christian, my life is now challenging and I found the greatness of the Lord.

I thought my life was meaningless, because I didn't even understand what I had. Until that changed because of God's promises and help. As the Scripture says, John 6:35 - Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

Maybe I'm hungry and thirsty for many things, but today I'm always full and enough.

Because honestly, it's different to live now. Apart from crimes, people get various diseases and every day you will have problems with what to eat or what you should do just to survive.

Despite the hardships and beatings, I am blessed to have known God because He saved me from things and times when I was tired and giving up. My life is a total mess. I don't know how far, but God always remembers His promises.

“I am with you, your life is now safe with me.”

His words with care and pure love. Reminders that even though I know I don't really know anymore, I have a God who is ready to remind me and fight for me.

So I will fight for my faith for the life he gave. He is the only one I can always lean on. One night, I was lying in bed with my ears wearing airpods, I was just listening to Christian songs.

My mouth suddenly opened.

“Am I still walking on the right path? How far will my feet take me into a great life? Does my life still have light and value?”

A lot of questions were forming in my mind. Until tears fall down into my face. I decided to pray after that. A prayer for life, and a prayer to make me stronger to continue, after all.

I stopped crying and smiled and said to the air.

“I need you, I need Jesus in my life. Take charge of everything.”

He is my bread of life; who gives hope, and breathes. (Acts 17:25)

Oh dear, surrender your life to the Lord and remember that our life is coming from Him. Live your life to the fullest with God.

Continue your journey and keep going, He has a great plan for all of us (Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 32:8 and Proverbs 3:5-6).

God gives life and hope, our life is to the Lord. Maybe our life in this world is temporary, but in His presence it is abundant and everlasting life.

A life with joy, truth, laughter and no more pain anymore. A life that we belong with Jesus Christ.
