Chapter 27: Chosen Generation
Music: Chosen Generation by Passion

Main Verse:1 Peter 2:9-10 ESV
[9] But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
[10] Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

We are not the ones who choose, but whatever who we are, we are chosen by Him. Sometimes, we see ourselves that we’re nothing or not worth it because of the painful journey that we had. But at the end of the day, God knows His children, He chose us because He loved us.

As time goes by, there are many changes that really affect people's lives. However, God does not abandon us. If we still hold on to our faith and believe in His promises, He will always keep us safe. God hears us, just believes and continues to enjoy our lives.

When I became Christian, I found out more interesting things about Him. I want to know more about who is and after that, He loves me unconditionally. Besides loving me, He choose me without any second thoughts or any what if.

He removed me from my darkness, He held His hand and reached me and now, I am in the light.

Despite of my storms, He is always there. He always reminds me that “My daughter, I will always choose you no matter what happens.” Sometimes I wonder if I deserve to be given importance, because who am I? I am just nobody. But in Him, I am worth it.

Whenever I am down, He reminds me of this.

Whatever happens, I love you.
If the world is against you, I am here to comfort you.
If no one tells you how beautiful you are, look up. Like the shine of the skies, and night with stars and moon. You are more than that, you are the only one my lovely child.
If no one believes in you, still don’t stop for what you are doing. I gave you talents and explored them.
If you’re alone, remember that I am watching you 24/7.
If someone hurts you, don’t hurt them back. Instead, allow me to handle it and I will take revenge for you.
From the beginning until the end, I choose you.

His love can’t compare to anything. I also realized that God allows some hardship in our lives, not to think it is a punishment or because it is our fault. But to become closer with Him, to understand His greatness and goodness.

The love of God is always overflowing. He makes sure that we feel it even if we don't see Him. I can’t imagine the grace that He gave to us, without any judgement He always accepts and prove that I choose you, always.

There are times, we deny and reject Him. Yet, He stands for us and continues to give His amazing love that no one can sustain it. I wanna share my biggest testimony regarding being chosen.

I always lost, because before I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior I want to explore and know who I am. Even though there are times that I ended up hurting myself mentally and emotionally, I still choose to understand, pay attention to the people around me. However, I was wrong. I thought they would be there in times when I am in trouble and alone.  They choose themselves only. While me, I need to face the challenge caused by the people I trusted.

They will not help you nor choose you to save you from the harmful situations you are involved in. For them, leave it as you do the mess. They will always abandon you in the darkness. This is life, you are surrounded by people that only care for themselves.

In reality, life is full of random deceitful people.

Not everyone can be trusted, not everyone can be told about their feelings or problems. Because often, the person you thought was there for you, is the one who will break the trust you gave them.

You need to be careful who you will be trusted, because in times of problems, you only have yourself on your side. No! Jesus is your companion and ally in every battle you face in life.

As scripture says, Isaiah 43:1 (ESV)
[1] But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

Don’t be afraid, our Lord knows our names and He is with us. However, let’s understand the difference of called and chosen.

Called this is generally speaking that everyone is called and has a purpose but not all accept it, some of us reject it.

Chosen you are special, know your value, mark to be saved.

You are wonderfully made of God, once you accept Him as your Lord and Savior you are saved and receive the everlasting life.

There are three (3) ways why being chosen can change your life.

1.When you are chosen, you feel appreciated.
Everyone of us, one to feel that way. It makes us feel better and inspired. Our Lord always choose us and it means whatever who we are, He appreciate everything about us.

2. When you are chosen, you know your purpose in life.
Not at all, know who they are, what their path and how they will continue their journey. But, God knows the best for us. You will have a knowledge and understanding of your life.

3. When you are chosen, it reminds of God’s love.
You know that you are not alone in your journey. You are secured and safe. No matter what you have been through, you have a connection with Him and always want to feel His presence.

All of us want to be chosen. Not just for who we are, but our wholeness. So, let’s connect with Him and believe in Him, always.

He is true, He is with us, He will choose you, forever.
