Chapter 17: Words of Wisdom
Music: Christ Our Wisdom by Sovereign Grace Music

Main Verse:James 1:5 ESV
[5]  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.

It is better to ask than nothing. Wisdom of words means it is good advice or insightful sayings that have guidance. Most of us need this, to have a right path and know what we are doing or where we belong. Asking someone is not referring you’re weak, it is an action also of being humble and willing to accept whatever the possible answer. But then, not at all should grab it because some of the sender or the one speaking can truly address the concern but only one knows everything—it is Jesus. He can give supernatural words, guidance and best solutions to all of our struggles.

As we grow, we hear a lot of things to all the people surrounding us. Are we engaging to them? How do we know that they give words of wisdom? All of us are truly engaging with them, by interacting and communicating. But sometimes it is hard to know their words of wisdom. Because some of them say, “take a risk and you will know the answer.” Yes! This is a common phrase to people who have tried many times and know the solution to their problems.

But honestly, it's not easy to try and go on taking risks. You need to be prepared, you have courage and wisdom above all.

Because to live in this world, you need to be strong in all your battles. But if you're struggling  with a big hardship in your lives, ask God and He will help you.

I wanna share some of my testimony, before I always feel alone and unworthy. Even in my skills or talents, I don’t want to share it with anyone. Because my thoughts, “I can’t do this!”, “Maybe next time, I will try. But now, I am weak for that.“ and “No matter what I do, it's not really for me.”

A lot of excuses because I don’t want to try. But life always challenges me, so I give it a shot. Still, I failed. Then one night, I asked God. In my silence, I feel the warm and calm moment.

There is no voice, but I feel that I am not alone. So, I closed my eyes and prayed to Him.  I cry a lot, because honestly I don't know what to do. The routine life is not good anymore. It was tiring and ended up questioning myself. Still, He know me. He knows what I'm going through. I continued and asked His guidance and words of wisdom.

I don't know how long I have been talking to Him. But I feel peace more and feel better. Until I looked at my Bible. I got it.

I opened my Bible, then I was stopped at the book of Proverbs. Scripture says, Proverbs 13:20 ESV,  Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

His words are deep, but truthful and meaningful. Then another verse comes, Proverbs 24:14 ESV, [14] Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

God answered differently, because he is God of wisdom. I focused more on his words and I thought that in every storm I face, He has a reason. From that, I experienced His mighty comfortness.

We should come to Him no matter what, because He will guide and give  the answer for what we need or what we are going through.

How can we find wisdom?
-Simple, fear with the Lord and pray to Him, confess everything and ask for His help.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

We cannot immediately find the wisdom that is sought in other things, because whatever happens. We will still go back to things that will give us more problems, but the Lord can make everything we do easier. We just have to trust Him.

It is also important that we do not base ourselves on our own abilities. Let's still think that everything we do and blessings in our lives are from Him. Scripture says, Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

He alone has the ability to correct us. Let's just trust and believe in Him, more than that, let's remember that everything we have is from Him.

Since I became a believer today, I am now confident that everyday God gave me words of wisdom to continue in life and trust myself that is also based on His will.

“Trust me, my words are for you. I'll guide and be with you all the time.”

This is a reminder to all of us, always ask  God first,  and pray to Him to ask for help.

Don't worry and feel doubt, He is the answer. He is always there for us. He is not deaf and has no feeling. If there is no answer and we don't know yet, let us wait for God to reveal His words of wisdom through God's word (Bible) and dreams.
