Chapter 11: Quiet Time
Music: In Christ Alone by Passion, Kristian Stanfill

Main Verse: Psalm 46:10 ESV
[10]  “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Everyone of us has a way to feel the peace—the silence. Some of us can take the noise, but most of us being alone is enough. But for me, the best time to be quiet is being alone where I can heart talk with God. It restores and calms my mind  better and helps me to sustain energy.

Our place is very crowded, sometimes peace can’t be found because of random problems that we think about every day. There are a lot of things that we might consider, that make us busy or out of focus. Still, we need to breathe and find ways to relax.

You know what is quiet time? Quiet time (strongest matches) means you are having one on one time or heart time with the Creator. Having this kind of momentum, you get refreshed and realised a lot through prayer, reading His words and medication.

Now that I am a Christian, quiet time helps me to know the truly important and step away from distractions. It makes me relax and see the goodness of the Lord. (Matthew 6:33)

Aside from being relaxed, it helps me to reduce stress. This is important, why? It connects you a lot to the Lord and guides your path with His words that you are meditating. You surrender all your worries and doubts. After that, you become strong and more mindful.

According to God’s word saying about silence time with Him, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: ... a time to keep silence, and a time to speak"
(Eccl. 3:1, 7)

We need a moment with the Lord, quiet time is the best way to do so.

If we’re struggling about having a quiet time, because of our hectic schedule, different priorities and unbalanced time. I have something for you— Five ways to undergo Quiet time with the Lord.

1)Know your Vacant Time and Day
— To start with quiet time, it is much better to know the best time or choose your day and time, so that you can have a flexible and consistent moment with the Lord. Having a quiet time is not required for what specific day or night, weekday or weekends. As long as it fits your schedule, try to challenge yourself and give it to the Lord.

2)Find your Quiet Place
—It is necessary to have the best spot, where you can pray, cry, ask, confess and worship Him. Find your place where you and the Lord only talk and feel His presence.

3)Make a Plan
— Once you know what and when— your time and place. You need to take down your plans within the day. But make sure to put God first and make your quiet time routine so that you can focus. Do not put too much on so that you can avoid distractions.

4)Enjoy the moment
—Establish your mood, try to start with praise and worship and then pray to God. Don’t think about what time to end, just enjoy every minute and you can see how God is great. Strive and take your moment, create a space with the Lord.

After doing this, you already know what a quiet time is. Remember that it will establish your communication and moment with Him. Also, doing quiet time, the scripture tells us that silence can help us avoid sinning (Proverbs 10:19), gain respect (Proverbs 11:12), and is deemed wise and intelligent (Proverbs 17:28).

So let's try to have a quiet time, it's not just because it helps spiritually. But emotionally and mentally it is fine, we can also discipline ourselves in everything we do. We are often busy with things, but let’s organise our routine.

It gives some benefits spiritually, they encourage our entire body to rest, minds, and spirits, providing opportunity with God to refresh our souls.

Aside from that, silence helps us to be more productive and allow ourselves to do our tasks effectively. It focused our minds.

We have the ability to create more flexibility.

Quiet time is being dedicated to God, it addresses all our concerns through His scriptures. It strengthens your relationship with Him and nurtures our relationship to our family and friends.

We can reflect and confess afterwards, quiet time is not just you are having a silence. It has a power to renew our minds, and have a humble heart to the Lord.

The best time to do the quiet time is when no one is awake, but if you have your own room, night is the best or early in the morning. But it’s up to you, what is the best time to choose. The most important thing is to understand why you're interested as well.

I have list down some creative quiet time:
QUIET TIME AND COFFEE- Early in the morning with coffee is the best, where you can just read your bible and talk to Him.

JOURNAL YOUR JOURNEY- Taking notes is the best, where you can check it anytime, always prepare a pen and notebook because most of the time God reminds us of His plans or promises to us.

SING PRAISES AND WORSHIP- It is refreshing and motivates your day, makes you at peace and feels joy with Him.

HIDE THE WORDS- This is the best way of memorising because you also gain wisdom and understanding from the scriptures that you are reading in a day.

SPEND SHORT OR LONG PRAYER- Most of the time praying is enough. It is just a heart time where you can cry, laugh and feel blessed.

These creative quiet times are my lists where I want to take and apply.

Quiet time is for you—us, now, let us remember this scripture.

Joshua 1:8 ESV
[8] This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
