Chapter 16: Promises
Music:Your Promises by Elevation Worship

Main Verse:
‭Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV‬

[8] It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Every word comes from Him is true, not changed and it is happening. It gives abundant life, hope and encouragement to everyone. His promises are always there, as he said he will make it. All we need to do is believe and trust in Him. Always rely on God, He will strengthen you and we can overcome the world. His promises are faithful and better than anything else, promises to give success to His children who believe in Him.

Commitment is one of the hardest things for people to do. Not because it is often nailed down, but because it does not come from the heart. Often just from the mouth, but the lie, he can't do it and all the words are just air to him.

Who would be happy with hopeful people? To people who are good at making promises but don't do anything. Nothing, right? Each of us, we want when we promise we will do it. Not immediately, but there is a word and can prove it at the right moment or time.

Promise means a declaration or having an assurance for someone or something. It also gives proof through action not just words.

But the truth is, not all of us keep our promises. Me too, so it's good to think carefully before making a promise to anyone.

There is a scripture that I have read before, in the book of Proverbs 20:25, it says there God is holy, be careful what we promise to Him. On the other hand, this passage is reminding all believers that saying promises is very important, especially to the Lord. Still, He gave a lot of promises to us.

Did you know what His greatest promises to His children are? If not, I tell you it is to forgive us and give us eternal life with Him.
(John 3:16)

Out of my curiosity, I searched on the internet how many promises of the Lord He has for us or in the Bible.

Then, I was amazed because the Scriptures contain a grand total of 8,810 promises. It so many! Just here, you will be satisfied with His promises.

Moving forward for His more promises. I have found the highlighted 7 Promises of God:

1)God will be with you.
-Dear, whatever our circumstances in our lives God is watching us and He will guide us because He will never leave us.

Hebrews 13:5 ESV
[5] Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

2)God will protect you.
-Dear, God loves you. He will make sure that no harm will be with you, His Angels will be guard you all the time.

Psalm 91:11 ESV
[11]  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

3)God will be your strength.
-Dear, every day we experience a lot of battles, therefore God will embrace His arms to you and feel the strength that you need. Whenever you’re weak, He is strong for you.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 ESV
[7] So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. [8] Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. [9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

4)God will answer you.
-Dear, He knows you a lot. Everything that happens has a purpose and has perfect timing in His hands. Just keep the faith and trust Him.

Jeremiah 33:3 ESV
[3] Call me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

5)God is your ultimate provider.
-Dear, His name is great. Whatever you ask by His name, one of His names is Jehovah Jireh, He will provide it surely and abundantly.

Philippians 4:19 ESV
[19] And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

6)God will you peace.
-Dear, life is full of struggles that make us experience a lot of mess and pain. But don’t worry, we have God that gives peace and rest. Come to Him and ask help.

Philippians 4:6 ESV
[6] do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

7)God will always loves you.
-Dear, you are not perfect. But, in His eyes you’re His lovely child. He is not based on your past, He just knows he loves you. He is happy for you to accept and know Him in your life.

Romans 8:39 ESV
[39] nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As we take more steps on our journey, God gave us more promises that until now He proved His unending love. Let us all trust and come to Him.

We will experience even more strange things in His presence. Like the shining stars in the sky, which we cannot count. He has so many promises that no one can match—He can do all things, He is greater than we know.

Let us not lose hope, so whenever we are weak. Let's go back to his promises that never change and disappear. Because, since He granted it to all of us, it is a promise that lasts forever.

Like a poem that has free or rhyme lines. His words are a magic that should be seen and be proud of. I am a live testimony, I have seen and experienced different kinds of His promises in my life.

Promises that I thought would never happen again, like staying in a dark home. I thought I was travelling alone, but I was wrong. I just thought about all that, brought by various emotions because I don't want to hope anymore. It's sad because nothing good is happening. It's the other way around, with every bad event, there's a situation that I didn't expect. Situation that will change my perspective. Gives me more peace and stability in life.

So dear, keep and trust His promises. Don't let it get away from you, because it's not like the beautiful and fragrant flowers in the garden that will disappear after a while.

His promises are alive, powerful and forever live in our hearts. The promises of the Lord are not just words, it is a magic that has its own perfect timing to all of us. A promise that encourages us to live and laugh our lives.
