Chapter 13: Who am I?
Music: Who am I by Casting Crowns

Main Verse:‭Exodus 3:13-14 ESV‬
Highlight Verse: ‭Exodus 3:14 ESV‬
[14] God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

Every piece of us is part of our emotions, beliefs, understanding of life and the whole of who we are. Do we know who we are? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But the truth, the answer is maybe. Most of us are always trying our best, somehow we are the pretenders. We make things easy in our own unique ways to hide our true identity, but in the end we are the ones who suffer from that. Try to be you and expand your capacities and know your behaviour.

When I was in Junior High, I still didn't know who I was. I always go with the flow, and let things happen. Because life is not a race, it's just a battle that you need to face and conquer. Still, I want to figure out who I am. Time passed, little by little I explored and challenged myself to things that will make me productive and feel better. But one thing I hide, my talent. I just believe in myself that I don’t have one. I choose to remain silent.

But my body disagrees, in my Senior High days. I joined a singing and cooking club. From that, I enjoyed my interaction with my new friends and grew my skills as well. I realise that things will happen when you allow it. Life is really hard if you don’t know where to go and how to do this or that. Life is full of trials and challenges, but full of lessons and wisdom. There are two options there, first , take it and apply it to your life. Lastly, leave it and forget it until the rest of your life.

See? Choices are everywhere too. But you must choose wisely and know your goals. You are developing amazing things and absorbing new changes to your life.

Along my journey, I was amazed and saw the blessings. Yes, I was incomplete. I am finding things that I can’t totally find. It is tiring but it will lead you to something remarkable. While getting to know myself, I found Jesus. He is the piece that will complete my wholeness.

Everyday I am afraid, lazy and feel fear because I always judge for specific behaviour or attitude that I am not sure it is me, whether good or bad. Yet, God found a way. I seek Him with all my heart (Matthew 6:33). Then, I ignore their words and focus on the things that I need. I rely on His commandments and receive His goodness. I learned to follow my heart, that was aligned to Him and improve my skills and talents.

I was also in the dark, because I was struggling to figure out who I was. But because Christ was in my heart, I found what I was missing. The confidence and doing of the things I could, and could do.

And when He chooses you, no matter what you have been through or faced, you will also know who you are and the light you have been waiting for so long.

As I read His Scriptures,

‭1 Peter 2:9 ESV‬
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

From this passage the word chosen says you are marked to be there or have a special privilege.  (Matthew 22:14)

Moreover, I am confident to shout who I am now— I am saved by Jesus and I am loved and worth it. I am talented and have a future.

Every time I am going back to recall the moment where I am confused, abandoned and feel unloved. I found out, there is a reason for the missing part in my life.

Sometimes, it's not immediately visible or known. You have to go through pain, hardship, surprise, or often get lost. But the right time will come for the true you to emerge, the you who is not afraid to prove who you are.

When you have nothing to prove to others, when your very being is enough. No matter what you go through, you fight and you know that even if you make mistakes, you don't care what others say. Instead, you think more about what God will say to you.

It's also really important that you stumble or that you think, maybe this is all I can do. Often, there are various what-if questions. But that's okay, you will also recognize who you are when you know Jesus, when you accept him with all your heart as your Lord and Savior.

So, dear, don't think that you can just let it go or let it happen. Don't give up on facing and finding yourself. It's good to find yourself when you're not alone, when God is with you in your lack of humanity. In times when you always question your personality.

Don't deceive yourself either, because if you do, you'll only be fighting against one enemy—yourself.

It is important to always ask how you are doing. Also tell God everything, so that you know better what to think and do. Always hold on to His word for you. (Exodus 14:14-God will fight for you, Isaiah 41:13 - God hold your right hand, don’t feel fear.)

Let's just have faith and keep doing what we have to do. I also believe that little by little, we will get to know who we are better. Let's not rush, let's not believe too quickly but just come to Him. God knows everything, we have nothing to hide so He also knows that we are struggling, we don't know how to continue, everything has a reason and a plan.

There are 4 things to identify in Christ (How God Sees You)

Knowing our identity isn’t easy. Most of the time the fake one always exists but in the long run, we can definitely the goodness of the Lord and reveal the truth.

REMEMBER YOU ARE LOVED.
Knowing yourself is a great challenge to all of us, but remember that whatever who you are, God loves you. He is always there for us.

REMEMBER YOU ARE CHOSEN.
Knowing that His only Son sent for us, this is a great love that can change anymore. God is not based on our great doings, instead your heart.

You are not mistaken, you just adapt the sin that needs the cleanse from the Lord Jesus Christ, surrender and know you are wanted and chosen by Him.

REMEMBER YOU ARE FORGIVEN.
Even though you always make mistakes, you feel not enough and you have a lot of sin. We are not all perfect and broken by the wounds of our past. There is only one solution for that, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior confess everything. Therefore, you will know that in the eyes of the Lord, you are accepted.

REMEMBER YOU ARE REDEEMED
After receiving the forgiveness, you are now redeemed and know Christ's sacrifice. If before the devil and darkness own you, now God is with you.

You don’t need to defend or define who you are, God knows you and there is a light in you now.

You are now new and walk now with Jesus Christ.

Now, you are not a nobody. You are now the child of God with a purpose. You are living with the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. You are now a warrior, a believer, His chosen child.
