Chapter 9:Painful Choices
Music: Even When It Hurts by Hillsong UNITED

Main Verse: Romans 8:18 ESV
[18] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

The worst feeling ever is when you did your part, but you're wrong, you fail and are not worth it anymore. Like what I read from famous quotes from Angeline Joline, Without pain, there would be no suffering, without suffering we would never learn from our mistakes. It is true right? Pain makes us bold, powerful, and fighters even if we become damaged before. Somehow, those journeys with our painful choices telling, it's okay to fail or make mistakes, but wake up and correct it at the same time. Pain doesn't mean we're weak, it is the antonyms of joy.

Pain is the process of hurt that makes you grow to your whole transformation. You need to survive and understand your wholeness.

As I step up more in this world, I experienced a lot that led to my painful choices. There are many gaps that I have not filled. A dream that I want to come true but it's just a puzzle. Because of my sudden decisions that I want to make immediately for my future. It's not easy to gamble on a decision that was not prepared, things that you want to happen immediately but there is no certainty. Often, it's really a person who has a plan for all their suffering. We tried to compose a broken event that had no order yet.

I used to think that if you have a plan and you can deal with it, that's okay-you'll succeed. All of that is a missing step in building a truly whole person. Because for me, the journey is full of mysteries that you yourself can identify and answer your illnesses, hardships and deficiencies as you.

I just let myself go through a fight that always hurts and hurts me. I give more importance to the people who are important to me, even if it ends up into broken pieces of myself.

However, I have also learned to love myself when I am exhausted. Above all, there is a powerful one who is willing to build me up and correct my mistakes in life. Jesus was the answer to every wound I had.

When I knew Him deeply, I found out that pain is not just part of our lives. But this is the key for all Christians to believe and trust in Him whatever happens. (Corinthians 12:8-10; 1 Peter 4:12-13)

Suffering was allowed by God in order for us to be dependent on Him.

I used to think that God tortures us because of our sins. But no, He loves us and He just wants us to always remember to come to Him.

Every wound and pain journey that we had, is just more than to what Jesus experienced when He was crucified in the cross of Calvary. After all, we don't deserve to be loved so much. But this is one of the painful decisions He made, but because of His great love for us, He endured and made it.

Since I learned about the pain that happened to Jesus. I understand better now that it's still important to be hurt, and all of this has a reason. I still remember my first heartbreak. Because what love does is strange, you can handle and endure everything. You will forget yourself, but from that hurt and suffering. I found my worth and I got closer to the Lord.

Pain makes me stronger than what I expected. I thought I would carry the pain with me forever, but it was just the beginning for me to learn more about who I am. To understand that life isn't not about joy, laugh and blessings. There is a pain that we need to conquer and take it.

So as long as it lasts, no matter what storms and hardships, I will continue and the Lord will be my companion.
(2 Corinthians 1:3-8)

Sometimes, it's good for us to know that not all suffering and pain is a heavy burden. Because of its truth, we are only put in a situation so that we know better that we are not alone. We have to fight, trust God and learn from life.

I tried to understand the thoughts about this question that comes to my mind: Does pain make us better? Although there are many reasons why people engage in this kind of self-injury, the most commonly reported reason is simple, if seemingly odd: to feel better. Some studies, pain make us the best version of ourselves, but these kinds of words are not for all people. It takes time to heal and forget the pain that we have experienced from our past.

Additionally, I found an interesting question. Does pain protect us?

I searched about this different question. It's kinda weird and questionable. However, I found a wow answer. Did you know that pain is actually a protective mechanism? Pain is important for keeping our bodies safe. It notifies us that an event has occurred that may be damaging to our tissues so that we can make necessary changes to prevent harm. This answer is from one of the blogs of Preferred Physical Therapy.

Somehow, the answer is more about physically. If we go beyond that, in biblical basis pain helps us to be more humble on our Almighty God. We become more like a baby who needs the care of their mother. We cried out, and asked more of Him.

Aside from that, pain can motivate us. How? It immediately attracts attention and takes some decisions and action. It means, our mind is actively thinking how we can survive from the hurt, worries or any pain that we are having. Pain is not just agony or chaos that we know, pain is more of that. Pain is a blessing that leads us to the right path, to run to God and have a clear mind for correcting all of our wrong doings.

Usually, the greater pain is a greater motivation. Pain provides us valuable lessons, knows our limitations, limits our expectations and our deepest desires.

So dear, if you have pain right now, pray and talk to God and He will help you right away.
