Meera's POV

Adhyay's gaze softened as he looked at me, that intense focus still in his eyes. I felt the weight of his words sink in—there was no uncertainty between us. He meant what he said, and in that moment, I realized how deep the bond had grown without either of us really trying. But now, with the teasing and the flirtation, it was like we were pulling each other closer in a way I hadn't expected.

I could feel the shift in the air, the playful energy between us giving way to something more sincere. His thumb brushed over my wrist, the light touch making me shiver just slightly. His smile was soft, almost protective, as if he wanted to shield me from the rest of the world.

"You make it too easy, Meera," he said, his voice low and steady, a playful glint still in his eyes, but there was something deeper there now, a warmth I hadn't noticed before. "You know that, don't you?"

I smiled, taking a small step back, pretending to think it over. "Maybe I do," I teased. "But only because you make it impossible not to."

He chuckled softly, the sound soothing in the quiet of the room. "You have no idea what you're doing to me," he said, his tone a little husky, and I felt the heat between us rise again.

"Trust me, I think I do," I replied, my voice playful but laced with a quiet confidence. I wasn't afraid of this feeling anymore—this connection between us. In fact, I relished it.

Adhyay leaned forward just slightly, his eyes locking onto mine, his lips barely a breath away from my ear as he spoke, "You're right, Meera. You do know what you're doing to me. And it's only just begun."

His words sent a thrill through me, and for a moment, I felt like I was suspended in time—like nothing else mattered. The teasing, the playful banter, it all felt so natural, but now there was a seriousness to it that pulled me in even more.

I raised my chin, meeting his gaze with a little challenge in my eyes. "Well, I hope you're ready for whatever comes next."

Adhyay's lips quirked into a grin as he stepped closer, his presence filling the space between us. "I've never been more ready," he said, his voice thick with promise.

And in that moment, I knew. This wasn't just about the teasing, the flirtation, or the banter anymore. It was about something real, something I hadn't expected but now didn't want to live without.

The morning light was soft, filtering through the curtains as I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my blouse for the day. The clock on the wall read 7:30 AM—just enough time to get everything ready before breakfast at 8. I was already thinking of the meeting I had later in the morning, a slight frown on my face as I mentally prepared myself for the long day ahead.

But as I brushed my hair, I couldn't help but feel a warm presence behind me. Before I could turn around, I felt a pair of strong arms circle around my waist. I froze, my heart skipping a beat as the familiar scent of Adhyay filled the air. His chest pressed lightly against my back, and I could feel the warmth of his body against mine.
