Adhyay's pov

It was almost 5 PM, and the anticipation in the air felt electric. The day had flown by, with meetings and last-minute preparations. As I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my cufflinks, my thoughts kept drifting back to the evening ahead. Tonight was special. Not only was I nominated for two prestigious awards, but it would be the night I got to stand beside Meera—my wife—on a public stage, and the world would see us together.

I glanced at the time again. Only a few more hours before we made our way to the event. I couldn't help but feel excited, but there was also this underlying curiosity gnawing at me. Meera had been acting a little mysterious today. Every time I tried to ask her about her plans for the evening, she just smiled that enigmatic smile of hers, saying she had a surprise in store for me.

I'd tried to brush off the feeling that there was more to this than just the awards ceremony, but the thought kept creeping into my mind. She was so careful with her words, so composed, that it only made me more curious about what she had up her sleeve.

I turned to the side as I heard the faint click of the door. Meera stepped in, looking every bit the vision of grace and elegance I had come to adore. She was dressed in a sleek Red gown that hugged her curves in all the right ways. Her hair was styled perfectly, cascading down her back in soft waves. She looked like a queen, and for a moment, I was lost in her beauty.

"Are you ready?" she asked, her voice soft but carrying that quiet strength I had grown to love

"Are you ready?" she asked, her voice soft but carrying that quiet strength I had grown to love.

I nodded, momentarily speechless. "You... you look incredible," I said, my voice low, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "I don't think I've ever seen you look more stunning."

She smiled, the corners of her eyes crinkling in that way that made my heart skip a beat. "Thank you," she replied. "You clean up pretty well yourself."

I chuckled and walked toward her, offering my arm

I chuckled and walked toward her, offering my arm. "Shall we go?"

She nodded, slipping her arm through mine, and we made our way out of the room, leaving the quiet behind and stepping into the night that awaited us.
