Adhyay's pov

I sat on the bed, laptop resting on my lap as I went through some pending emails. The house was unusually quiet, thanks to Ruhaan, who was off on another adventure with his chachus. That boy practically forgets he has parents the moment his uncles, mamus, dadus, and dadis show up. Not that I'm complaining. Okay, maybe I am a little.

Meera was in front of the mirror, adjusting the pleats of her saree. She always looked beautiful, but lately, there was a different kind of glow—one that had nothing to do with makeup and everything to do with the life growing inside her.

"We have the doctor's appointment in an hour," I reminded her, glancing at the time.

"I know, patidev. I'm almost ready," she replied, her eyes meeting mine in the mirror with a teasing glint.

I shut the laptop and set it aside, standing up and walking over to her. Wrapping my arms around her from behind, I rested my hands gently on her bump. "You sure you're feeling okay? If you're tired, we can reschedule."

She shook her head, leaning into my touch. "I'm fine, Adhyay. Besides, I want to see them today."

I smiled, pressing a kiss to her temple. "Alright, then. Let's go meet our little troublemakers."

She chuckled softly, turning in my arms. "Troublemakers already, huh?"

"With you as their mother? Absolutely," I teased, earning a playful swat on my chest.

Grabbing her purse, I intertwined our fingers and led her out of the room. It was time for another glimpse into the beautiful future we were creating together.

As we entered the hospital, the Doctor called us inside,

"Meera!Come!" Dr. Kartik said

"Hi Kartik" Meera said as she took a seat I settled beside her as Kartik gave me a quick smiling nod

"Ok lets have a check your little bunnies!"Kartik said

And with that, we made our way to the clinic for Meera's sonography. As she settled onto the bed, I couldn't help but recall the first time I heard their heartbeats. It was just two months ago, but the memory was vivid, etched into my soul.

Flashback

The room was dimly lit, the gentle hum of the sonography machine filling the silence. Meera lay on the bed, her hand gripping mine tightly. I wasn't sure who needed more reassurance—her or me.

"Ready?" the Kartik asked, spreading the cool gel over Meera's stomach. She nodded, her eyes flicking to mine, a soft smile playing on her lips.

I gave her hand a squeeze, but nothing could have prepared me for what came next. The steady thump-thump filled the room, rhythmic and strong. My breath hitched. Those weren't just heartbeats; they were the sounds of life. Our babies' lives.
