Meera's povWe were back. I didn't feel like coming back home! Udaipur Palace had my heart—the grandeur, the memories, the magic. But alas, reality was waiting for us with work that couldn't be ignored.
"Adhy—" I gasped as suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt myself being lifted off the ground.
"Yes, Jaan? Kya hua?" (Yes, my love? What happened?) Adhyay asked with that infuriatingly charming grin of his, planting a kiss on my cheek as if it were the most natural thing to do.
"Tum thakte nahi kya? Huh? Main abhi kaafi bhaari hoon!" (Don't you get tired? Huh? I'm quite heavy now!) I said, half annoyed, half amused. I mean, of course, I was holding two babies inside me! I must be weighing more than 80 kgs by now!
He chuckled, carrying me effortlessly as if I were as light as a feather. "Toh kya hua? Tumhare weight ka mere pyaar se koi lena dena nahi hai." (So what? Your weight has nothing to do with my love for you.)
Rolling my eyes, I playfully smacked his chest. "Mujhe neeche rakho, Adhyay! Agar gir gaye toh main tumhe chhodungi nahi." (Put me down, Adhyay! If we fall, I won't spare you.)
He smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Jaan, agar girenge toh saath girenge, aur uthenge bhi saath mein. Tum aur main toh ek team hai, hamesha." (Love, if we fall, we'll fall together, and we'll get back up together. You and I are a team, always.)
How did he always manage to say such things? My annoyance melted into a smile, and I couldn't help but lean into his embrace. "Tumhe pata hai tumhare iss dialoguebaazi pe mujhe hamesha pyaar aata hai?" (Do you know your cheesy lines always make me fall in love with you?)
"Bas pyaar? Tumhare aankhon mein toh kuch aur bhi hai," (Just love? I see something more in your eyes,) he teased, making me blush furiously.
I huffed, trying to divert his attention. "Achha, ab bas! Mujhe neeche rakho, aur mujhe kuch kaam karne do!" (Alright, enough! Put me down and let me get some work done!)
But, of course, Adhyay being Adhyay, ignored my protests and carried me straight to the couch, gently placing me down. "Theek hai, ab kaam shuru karo. Lekin agar thak gayi toh main tumhara kaam banwa doonga. Tumse zyada meri priority aur kuch nahi hai." (Alright, start your work. But if you get tired, I'll have your work done for you. Nothing is more important to me than you.)
I rolled my eyes but smiled nonetheless. Sometimes, he could be impossible. But how could I complain when he always made me feel so loved and cherished?

Author's PovIn a bustling café filled with the hum of conversations, clinking of cups, and the occasional laugh, she sat. Despite the chaos around her, Shivani exuded a sense of calm authority, her regal demeanor heightened by her sharp business formals. Her perfectly tied hair, understated makeup, and confident posture made heads turn. Yet, her focus was solely on the cup of coffee in front of her as she checked her watch impatiently. She was waiting for someone.
