Meera's POV
The soft chirping of birds and the faint morning light streaming through the curtains signaled the start of a new day. I stirred in Adhyay's arms, his warmth enveloping me like a cocoon. His grip was firm yet gentle, as if even in his sleep, he wanted to protect me. I smiled, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this life I was living.
I turned slightly, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. He stirred, his lips curving into a lazy smile even before he opened his eyes.
"Good morning," I whispered.
"Good morning," he murmured, his voice husky from sleep. "How are you feeling today?"
"Better," I replied. "Thanks to you and Ruhaan, my personal masseuses," I added with a giggle.
He chuckled, his hand brushing a strand of hair from my face. "Well, we'll do it every day if it keeps you smiling like this."
Just then, the door burst open, and Ruhaan padded in, his bedhead a mess of soft curls. He clutched his little stuffed tiger, his face lighting up as he saw us.
"Baba! Maa! Morning!" he chirped, climbing onto the bed without waiting for an invitation.
"Good morning, tiger," Adhyay greeted, pulling him into a hug.
Ruhaan snuggled between us, his little arms wrapping around my belly as if he already understood there was something special there. "Baby good morning too!" he said, leaning down to "talk" to my stomach.
Adhyay and I exchanged a fond look, our hearts swelling with love.
After a few minutes of family cuddles, we all got up to start the day. While Adhyay got ready for work, I helped Ruhaan dress for preschool, his chatter filling the room with life.
As we descended the stairs, the aroma of breakfast wafted through the air. Maa sa and Kaki sa were bustling in the kitchen, while Kabeer was already seated at the table, scrolling through his phone.
"Good morning, Bhabhi! Good morning, Bhai sa!" Kabeer greeted, a mischievous grin already in place. "And good morning, junior tiger," he added, ruffling Ruhaan's hair.
"Morning, Kabeer," I replied, shaking my head at his antics.
Adhyay grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down at the table, pulling Ruhaan onto his lap. As the family chatted and laughed over breakfast, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of contentment. This was my safe space, my people, my everything.
As breakfast wrapped up, Adhyay stood and leaned down to kiss my forehead. "Take it easy today, hmm? I'll be back early," he promised.
I nodded, watching him leave with Ruhaan, who was excitedly babbling about his day at preschool. The house felt quieter after they were gone, but I didn't mind.
I had a lot to do today, including work, but my family had already made sure I had enough support. Kabeer, of course, was hovering nearby, ready to enforce his protective "pregnancy schedule."
"Alright, Bhabhi," Kabeer said, clapping his hands together. "Time for morning juice and then a walk. No excuses."
I groaned playfully but followed him outside, knowing this routine would continue for months. It was 8:00, well today we took a late walk, Adhyay insisted
And honestly? I didn't mind it one bit.

Adhyay's POV
The drive to the office was uneventful, but my thoughts were anything but. Meera's pregnancy news had changed everything. My heart felt lighter, and fuller, as if this was the missing piece I didn't even know we needed.
