Tails: In a land far, far away lies the kingdom of Fiore, a place filled with magic. Found in every home, bought and sold in every marketplace, for some people magic is merely a tool to be used for everyday life.
Luigi: But to other people magic is an art so cool it's used for a ton of awesome spells.
Tails: These are the wizards, they form magical guilds in search of fame, fortune, and creating legends for dozens of generations. They can use all kinds of spells, like fire, ice, lightning, use swords, summon creatures and many many more.
Luigi: But there's one wizard who is no doubt is one of best ones yet. His name is Natsu Dragneel.
Tails: In his infancy Natsu grew up in a pretty relatively normal village.
Luigi: Or at least that would've been the case if it wasn't for the fact that his entire village along with his parents got killed and destroyed by a bunch of goddamn dragons. And I thought Bowser was scary.
Tails: Fortunately, Natsu's older brother, Zeref, survived. Horrified by the violent fate of his family, Zeref desperately sought a way to revive Natsu. Eventually, he discovered the connections between life, death, and magic and became obsessed.
Luigi: And so, he became the most evil and powerful mage ever, cursed to live forever and ruin everyone's lives. But everything worked out, I guess, because he brought Natsu back. Just one catch: Natsu had to be revived as a demon, though this gave him the potential to become even more powerful than Zeref.
Tails: Unfortunately, Zeref had become incredibly dangerous to be around. Fearing for his brother's safety, he left Natsu in the care of his friend, Igneel, who just so happened to be the Fire Dragon King.
Luigi: Basically a dragon adopted Natsu. Kinda ironic since this is the same species that killed him, his family, and his whole village in the first place.
Tails: Igneel raised Natsu like his own son, teaching him the basics such as how to talk, write, and even taught him how to use the most mysterious and ancient type of magic out there: Dragon Slayer Magic.
Luigi: Dragon Slayer Magic is a type of Lost Magic which allows its users to transform their physical bodies into a Dragon. As a result, the user can transform their body with features of their respective attribute or element, utilizing both offensive and defensive styles.
Tails: Despite all of that Igneel proved to be a great adoptive father figure to Natsu even giving him his scarf. However when Natsu came of age, Igneel suddenly sent him through a time machine and poof! Before he knew it, Natsu was trapped 400 years in the future.
Luigi: He basically abandoned Natsu by literally throwing him 400 years into the future. That's cold man. Too cold.
Tails: Actually not really because though Natsu didn't know it at the time, Igneel actually had a plan to save the world and sending him into the future turns out to be one of this one of those steps. Nevertheless Natsu set out on a journey to find Igneel that journey led to a fateful encounter with Makarov Dreyar who took him in to a new home in one of the most infamous magical guilds in history: Fairy Tail.
Luigi: A new home full of laughter and chaos and Natsu fit in quite well to picking fights with some rivalry but also managing to find new companions like his cat, Happy. But when he's not picking fights with fellow guild members, Natsu's out on missions kicking some serious ass.
Tails: Natsu possesses superhuman speed, impressive strength, and unbelievable durability. He has superior senses such as sight and smell, along with a mastery of hand-to-hand combat skills.
Luigo: But when you add his Dragon Slayer Magic he becomes a totally different animal and due to being trained by Igneel he can use Fire Dragon Slayer Magic.
Tails: As the name suggests, Fire Dragon Slayer Magic revolves around conjuring and manipulating fire. A prime example would be Natsu's signature move, the Fire Dragon's Roar.
Luigi: Which he literally shoots fire from his mouth. But that's not all the magic he can do. He can weaponize his flames into his fists, kicks, create fiery explosions, and then some. All thanks to his Dragon Slayer training too bad being a Dragon Slayer means he has a weakness for vehicles.
Tails: Like all mages in the Fairy Tail world, Natsu has a limited pool of magic, but consuming fire actually replenishes it.
Luigi: The dude literally eats fire. Enough said.
Tails: Not only that, he can consume different elemental magic as well, including lightning.
Luigi: Talk about a shocking appetite. And because this is anime, eating lightning gives Natsu access to an all-new form: Lightning Fire Dragon. With this, Natsu's abilities are enhanced with electricity, giving him a brand new element of power. Wait Tails this just gave me an idea.
Tails: What is it?
Luigi: What if me and Mario combine fire and lightning?
Tails: Ehhh.... Probably something deadly but don't expect to have any Dragon Slayer magic.
Luigi: Awww...
