As the guest arrived, Lisa's nerves began to mount; she wished her mother could be there. Ki was leaving his home and making his way to the estate. His recent conversation with Mi had ended poorly, yet he hoped she had finally come to understand him.

The Estate's lights were mesmerizing, the driveway adorned with primrose mini trees and cranberry bushes. Lisa's grandmother wanted to ensure she felt welcomed tonight.

Her grandmother approached Lisa's room and carried a gift for the occasion. Standing before the mirror, Lisa gazed at herself. Her grandmother's gown for the evening was elegant and undoubtedly expensive.

She felt uncomfortable displaying her wealth to Korean high society.

A knock came at the door, and her grandmother entered the room with a box. Lisa turned away from the mirror to face her grandmother, who was speechless by her granddaughter's beauty.

"Grandmother, you are so beautiful," Lisa said, approaching her with a gentle kiss.

"Let me look at you," her grandmother said, feeling happy and excited about the evening ahead.

"Are you still uneasy about why I chose to introduce you to society?" her grandmother asked with a smile.

"At first, I wasn't sure I could do this, but you have been more than kind, and we have grown close over the last two months. I'll be leaving soon, and I know this will change my life, even if just a little," Lisa said, holding her grandmother's hands. The box rested on her grandmother's lap, containing the brooch her mother had received when she was introduced to society for marriage. It was a tradition.

"I wanted to give you something of great value, something you can cherish and one day pass on to your daughter. It was bestowed upon me when my parents introduced me to society on my 20th birthday. Not long after that night, they arranged my marriage to one of the most prestigious families in Korea. I would be overjoyed if you wore it tonight," Lisa's grandmother said as she opened the box and revealed its contents.

"I can't accept it; it's such a beautiful piece of jewelry," Lisa responded, her tears flowing freely.

"No, we are family, and you are the only one who can carry on your father's legacy..." Our business has thrived for over a decade, and it's all due to our history and commitment to our lineage, which has kept us among the wealthiest families in Korea and around the world. I can never apologize enough for the wasted years the hardships, and the bitterness born from my and your grandfather's ignorance.

He never abandoned his family traditions and his culture and I can see that now in the way you were raised by your parents. I owe your mother a profound apology and gratitude." Her grandmother wiped away tears from her eyes... Lisa seemed perplexed, realizing she may have intended to marry and uphold the family's strong ties.

She affixed the brooch to her dress. "It's time. I'm sure the guests have arrived. I'll go welcome them and send Cholene to escort you to the stairs. When you hear the applause, descend the stairs... This night will be unforgettable," her grandmother said with a smile as she exited the room. Lisa inhaled deeply, knowing one thing for certain: Ki had captured her heart, and she yearned to see him once more.

Ki had arrived and walked into the grand foyer heading towards the ballroom of the estate his nerves were getting the best of him as he saw Mi's parents. He bowed, greeted them, and then proceeded to find his parents all the while looking for Mi.
