Lisa's phone rang; it was her publicist. She excused herself and walked back to the foyer to take the call.

"Hello Meg, how are you?"

"I'm fine, how about you? I haven't heard from you since you left."

"I arrived okay. I'm with my grandmother at the moment I will fill you in later," Lisa said, glancing at the stairs.

"That's fine the reason I called is I have received a call from Ki Beom's assistant. How they found out you were in Korea is beyond me. He wants to meet with you for a possible event he's hosting. I told them you were not performing at the moment and that you were on vacation in Korea off schedule.

I can easily call them and say no," Meg said, hoping she would take this opportunity to be heard in Korea.

"It's okay, call me later with the particulars, and I'll answer then."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, what could it hurt? It may be good exposure for my portfolio. I'm okay with it."

She hung up the phone and returned to her grandmother offering am apology for the interruption.

Her grandmother then closed the doors to the garden room and took a seat. Together, they spent the rest of the afternoon delving into discussions about family values, rifts, disappointments, losses, and the underlying reasons for past events. Lisa's pain was heavy, and tears began to flow. Her grandmother, apologetic and filled with remorse, she confessed to being ensnared in the history of generations and social class.

She acknowledged missing out on her son's life and not respecting his decisions and her mother's. She believed that she and Lisa's grandfather knew what was best for their son and the family.

"Lisa, I was wrong," she said, rising to embrace her granddaughter...."Can you forgive me?" Something was still not right. What could she possibly want now? Could Lisa just accept the apology and allow the family to finally heal?

Only time would tell.

"Let's stop here; we will have more opportunities to talk. Chi will show you to your room. Go and rest, and I will see you for dinner," Lisa's grandmother said. Rising from her chair, Lisa's tears continued to fill her eyes; she had so much to tell her mother. Her heart was overflowing and confused, pondering the years they had all missed together. Lisa kissed her grandmother and proceeded to her room.

Her grandmother opened the garden doors and stepped outside. Her mind seemed liberated after all these years, and she recognized that she still owed an apology to Lisa's mother. Yet there were pressing matters between Lisa and her Grandmother.
