"What's going on? Who was that woman calling my name like that?" Lisa asked Ki.
"Hold that thought," Lisa said, returning inside to play. There was applause as she walked to the front of the room and took her violin from her grandmother. She bowed and positioned the violin on her shoulder.
Ki was anxious that the situation had escalated this far, but he wanted to express his feelings for Lisa tonight. He suspected Lisa's grandmother was arranging for her to marry a suitor.
Lisa dedicated her sonata to her grandmother and played beautifully; everyone was delighted. Ki surveyed the room and observed discussions among the mothers about Lisa.
Lisa finished playing and bowed in thanks to those who had gathered to listen. Her grandmother was pleased and mingled with the crowd in doting conversations.
She lingered for a while, engaging in conversation with those who approached her, then excused herself, but not before exchanging a meaningful glance with Ki. He gestured for her to meet him in the foyer. His father noticed the gesture and realized something was amiss, a concern given the issues with the Eun family.
"Come with me!" Lisa said in an upset tone. Ki followed her to the main study...
She sensed something was wrong and needed answers; her heart was involved, yet she was ready to walk away from any drama.
She closed the door behind them and locked it for privacy.
"Alright, tell me, who was that woman?" she demanded, staring at him intently. Ki's facial expression was one of humility as he revealed exactly what she wanted to hear.
"Her name is Lisa Eun, my ex-fiancée, the one I told you I had broken things off with... for reasons that are now apparent," Ki explained.
"Oh... what does that have to do with me?" Lisa inquired, her curiosity tinged with a suspicion that she might already know the answer.
"She found out about you. From our very first meeting, she thought you were the reason we ended the engagement," Ki said, observing her body language closely.
"Me? Why... why would she say such a thing about me when she doesn't even know me?" Lisa asked Ki, feeling quite out of place.
KI approached Lisa; I needed to reassure her of my intentions. "I can't make excuses for her showing up here like that. I had met her before coming here to tell her to let go and move on with her life. She blew up and accused me of being unfaithful. It's such a laughable accusation when you think about it; she was the one sleeping around. I will handle the situation, I just... I just..." Ki faltered in expressing his true feelings.
"You just what?" Lisa asked.
Ki stepped closer to her, spontaneously grabbed her by the waist, and pulled her close to his body. She was caught off guard. "What are you doing?" she asked nervously, trying to break free from his grasp.
"Something from two weeks ago... that night at the fireworks," Ki said.
Lisa looked up at him, curious to know what he would say next, yet not wanting to make it easy for him. "We can't," Lisa said, turning away from him. He released her, but stood behind her and said...
"I love you, I can't explain my reasons why... I just know you are the one for me and I will not rest until you say yes to Me." Ki said passionatly. His breath reaching the back of her neck like a warm summer breeze.
"She quickly gaither her self and left the room to return to her guest and her grandmother.
Ki smiled with anticipation of her being nervous around him... He waited a few seconds and followed her.
His father, approched him, paying close attention to both of them returning within moments of each other.
"Father!"
