The guest awaited the introduction of Sebong Lisa Ryu. Ki kept his eyes on the entrance to the ballroom, certain that Myung would cause a scene."Son, haven't seen much of you. Is everything alright?" Ki's mother asked, brushing his shoulder.
Ki smiled. "Yes, just a little busy with the company, Mother," he said, scanning the room.
Ki's father was deep in conversation with other business partners, occasionally glancing over at Ki.
The atmosphere was festive and meticulously arranged. Lisa and her grandmother's assistant made their way to the stairs. The music played, then abruptly stopped. Lisa reached the middle of the stairs on the landing and positioned herself to descend.
Her grandmother approached the piano, nodding for her to play her son's favorite song. Taking the microphone, she turned to her granddaughter, offered a warm smile, and introduced her to Korea's elite. Lisa felt uncomfortable being showcased like a commodity, but she was eager to learn and assimilate into her culture.
"Thank you all for joining my family and me on this special occasion. For many of us, it is the first time we are introducing my late son Seobong Park Jeo's daughter, Sebong Lisa Ryu," she announced. All eyes shifted to Lisa as the guests applauded, welcoming her to Korea.
Despite Lisa's mixed heritage, her features reflected those of Korean descent, with a skin tone just a shade deeper than others. Ki was still captivated by her beauty every time he saw her.
"An accomplished violinist, she has developed a profound love and passion for music," he thought. Lisa now stood beside her grandmother, kissing her on the cheek before turning to her guest.
A highly intoxicated Myung stepped out of her car, and the parking attendants immediately recognized her condition as she thrust her car keys into their hands. Security was alerted as she staggered toward the home's entrance.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" asked one of the guards. She ignored them and continued inside.
She navigated to the ballroom and paused at the entrance, searching for Ki. Ki was deep in conversation with Lisa. Spotting them, she made her way through the crowd, oblivious to her parents nearby.
Ki, noticing her, excused himself from Lisa and made his way through the guests to reach Myung. At that moment, Myung's father also spotted Ki and followed him.
"There you are!" she shouted.
"You're drunk! Come with me," Ki insisted, grasping her arm and guiding her back to the foyer, with her father trailing behind them.
Once in the foyer, Lisa's indignation grew and her voice rose. Her father's pleas for calm were drowned out by her shouting, "That bitch, Lisa!" loud enough to echo into the ballroom. Lisa's head whipped toward the entrance as her grandmother approached, assuring her she would stay and send someone to investigate the commotion.
A nervous Lisa forced a smile and continued conversing with her guests. When security arrived at the foyer, Myung's father assured them that the situation was under control and that they would escort her out.
"I am not leaving until I talk to your Bitch the halfbreed blasian girl" Ki became extremely angry as Myung's father held her and dragged her out of the home. Ki was furious, he ran his hands through his hair, looked up at Celine in the discussion, and took a deep breath.
Lisa was pursued with many suitors... Her grandmother was glad that she was talking with them. Her plan seemed to be working.
As Ki returned to the party he saw Lisa deep in conversation with a group of men. Preoccupied with thoughts of Myung, he realized he needed to act swiftly to clarify the unfolding situation.
Lisa's grandmother approached the piano and asked Lisa to play her violin. The assistant brought it to her, and Lisa was surprised by the request. The ensemble was ready to accompany her performance.
