A week had passed without Ki speaking to or seeing Lisa, who was visiting her grandmother. Meanwhile, Kim had begun his new job, quickly becoming a respected member of the diamond industry and his industry group. He was immersed in work.

Myung hesitated to intervene, but as time passed, she resolved to visit Ki's father, Chairman Beom.

Lisa's grandmother requested an extension of her stay, citing unfinished stories and preparations. The underlying reason for her visit was a potential marriage to the heir of another influential family.

As the sole direct descendant of the Sebongs, Lisa's grandmother planned to host an introductory party to present Lisa to their esteemed society formally.

Desperate, Myung entered Chairman Beom's office. He rose to greet her. "To what do I owe this visit, my dear?" he asked, smiling at her.

"Has Ki reconsidered our wedding?" she inquired, though she already knew the answer. Chairman Beom's demeanor shifted.

"Please, have a seat. We need to discuss something," he said, his tone suggesting he had bad news.

"I'm afraid Ki has made up his mind. We haven't spoken in weeks, and I understand he has successfully launched his company," Chairman Beom revealed as Myung tensed in her chair.

"The marriage contract has been annulled, and the penalty paid. I'm sorry, Myung, that Ki chose defiance over duty to the family and you," he expressed. Tears welled up in Myung's eyes as she realized it was now up to her to sway his decision, but how?

"Did you know he's moved into a new estate and is hosting a violinist named Sebong Lisa Ryu? She was his guest artist last night at a formal dinner he hosted," Lisa shared, observing his reaction as he circled behind her back to his seat.

"No, I was not aware of this. I am certain he is making his mark in the business world and had some benefactors over you seem bothered by her; is there something going on between them?" Chairman Beom inquired.

"I believe they are in some way, he appeared in a photograph while on business in England over four months ago. It's quite intriguing that she's now in Seoul," Myung remarked.

"I'll inquire after I've spoken to him you need to move on dear... My son and I may differ in many things, but loyalty to family and our way of life is crucial. He will come to understand that, and if not, I will guide him. Don't worry, Ki won't marry anytime soon; of that, I can be certain," Chairman Beom said as he escorted Myung to the door.

The last encounter offered little to no relief; it was quite unpleasant. He essentially escorted her out of his life.
