Ki's father was seething with anger as he stormed into their home. Mrs. Beom was at a loss, her only recourse to plead with him to wait for Ki's arrival.

Ki had just arrived, stepping out of the limousine with a look of anguish and apprehension about what his parents might press upon him. He had always abided by the family's rules, yet the love he harbored in his heart for a woman, oblivious to the fervent possibilities he cherished for her, was undeniable.

Marrying into a family with high societal expectations was not his preference. For generations, society has paved the way for its successors, with parents imposing societal standards on their children. However, Ki couldn't care less about others' opinions. His happiness was the only thing that mattered for his future.

If reputation in Asian culture dictates the progress of success, then the presence of thousands of skeletons in upright households would challenge that theory.

Ki's mother waited in the foyer for him, eager to look him in the eyes and ascertain his well-being. She was aware that arguments would ensue, leaving scars if Ki did not reconsider his decision and comply with his father's wishes.

She embraced him, and his face held a hint of an apologetic stance. "Go in, he is waiting for you," she said, hugging her son.

Ki kissed his mother on the cheek and stepped back, making his way toward the library.

His father poured both of them a drink, he picked up the glasses and walked towards him... you could always read the look on his father's face when he was angry although hidden behind his glasses you could see red coming from behind them.

"Explain yourself?" His father asked sipping on the alcohol in the glasses.

Ki began, "This has nothing to do with you; it's entirely about me and what I want for my future." Ki waited, sipping the drink his father had given him, the shock of his father's words tensing him up. "What you want, you don't get to have a say in. This family is successful because of the men before me who have always led the family, including their children, in the direction of marriage. This goes beyond you, Ki. You have no say, but to be obedient to my wishes," his father retorted. Standing toe to toe in front of him, Ki's anger ensued as he stared his father down and stood his ground on the matter.

"Who is she?" his father asked.

"It doesn't matter, she is what I want and for my future.

His thought quickly turned to the smile of Lisa he had to stay focus on why he is leaving this arranged marriage.. to tell his father that love  matter the most in a marriage would be futile.
