Lisa entered the landing; Ki's back was to her. "So this is where you are?" she said energetically.

Ki smiled and turned around to greet her. "How was your nap?" he asked.

"Not long enough, there's something about this cozy air," she exclaimed.

"Dinner's almost ready; could you set the table for me?" Ki asked, arranging the food on the platters. Lisa walked over to the table, grabbed the placemats and cutlery, and began setting the table.

"I spoke with my grandmother earlier; she's inviting your family to my party. She wanted to ensure your schedule was open."

"I'll check, but I'll make time for you and your family," Ki said, carrying the food to the table.

"Have a seat. I'll get the wine, and then we can eat," Ki said, returning to the kitchen.

He settled into his chair and began to fill Lisa's glass with wine. She was taken aback, having never been attended to in such a manner by a man, and she found it impressive.

"So, we've touched on topics from literature and music to geography. Yet, you've evaded my inquiry about any significant other in your life," Ki remarked, observing her blush as she sampled the meal.

He anticipated her reply with eagerness, sensing it would lead to another engaging exchange.

"At present, there's no man in my life; I've been on dates, but nothing has developed into anything serious," Lisa admitted, her response catching her off guard.

Ki felt a surge of happiness but remained guarded; her answer was enigmatic in its tone.

It's now or never, he mused.

"I need to share something with you, and I hope it doesn't change your perception of me or make you find it strange, but ever since we first met after your concert in England and the time we spent at the seminars, I've been drawn to you. It's not just as a fan, but a real attraction and connection. Now, looking back, having you here seems almost miraculous. You see, I recently ended an engagement with someone I wasn't in love with. My family places great value on arranged marriages through the generations.

"She and I were not well-matched, and I've always wanted to share my life with someone I truly love. It's a difficult time; my father is barely speaking to me because the way I ended the engagement it has caused an awkward situation for both families," Ki had Lisa's attention.

She was a great listener, not interrupting but paying close attention to his words.

"Myung is a beautiful girl, but she does not understand me; she has an infatuation with me, nothing more. The deeper emotions that two people should share are not there between us. I broke off the engagement because I want to find someone new, someone who can match my energy," Ki said, looking at Lisa, who was now lost in his eyes.

"I am surprised, and I'm sorry things didn't work out. As you said, love is important in a lifelong relationship. We can imagine our partners, but until something happens in that meeting between us, I can't open my heart," Ki said, gathering the courage to express his feelings to Lisa.

"Do you believe in fate?" Lisa asked Ki.

His eyes widened in surprise as he listened to her.

"I do. I believe we are given signs that we often overlook, but if you manage to notice them, they should not be ignored. "Why do you ask?" Ki responded.

"Because I am certain, I am being led as well," Lisa said, turning away from Ki and bringing her glass to her lips.
