Shen Gusi felt strange, but didn't think much about it. After all, making more money was a good thing.

But it is not Shen Gusi's character to accept all these for no reason. Any reward should be accompanied by corresponding efforts. He is unwilling to take so much money for nothing without doing any work.

Shen Gusi insisted on moving bricks despite the contractor's repeated good advice. The contractor even begged him, saying that his only job now was to sit in the office.

"But why? That's my job." Shen Gusi asked the contractor, but was given a perfunctory answer.

Even so, Shen Gusi still couldn't sit still and felt uneasy about receiving the money every day.

Especially every time he looked out of the office window at the construction site and saw those people who were older or thinner than him, wearing such thin clothes in the cold wind but still working non-stop, Shen Gusi felt that the money in his hand weighed a thousand pounds.

Things that you get without working for them will never belong to you.

Shen Gusi took advantage of the fact that the contractor was not in the office and slipped to the construction site.

He has to work and get how much value in exchange for his labor. If he just looks at others for alms, then what is the difference between him and a beggar?

Shen Gusi returned to the construction site, took out gloves from his pocket, put on a safety helmet, and just as he lifted four heavy bricks, a worker who was mixing cement nearby spotted him and shouted, "Everyone, come and see, isn't this the foreman's little lover?"

His voice was so loud that it even covered up the sound of machines running in the distance. For a moment, all the workers present stopped their work and looked at Shen Gusi in unison.

Shen Gusi was a little at a loss as to what to do, and what was more embarrassing was what this person had just said.

"Why are you here carrying bricks on the construction site with your delicate body? Does the foreman not want you anymore?" the man said maliciously.

Shen Gusi hugged the brick in his arms and explained: "I am not the foreman's lover, I..."

Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted harshly: "Who would believe you if you said you didn't? You don't do anything every day, but you still get paid so much. You are just a gigolo. Tsk, you are just a butt seller."

His words caused everyone except Shen Gusi to burst into laughter.

Most of the people on the construction site are uneducated and rough, and what they say is unpleasant to the ear.

Shen Gusi's face turned pale and bloodless.

It's not that he hasn't been humiliated before. Shen Gusi often encountered this kind of thing when he was picking up garbage. But that kind of disgust and humiliation would not make Shen Gusi unacceptable, because he did look dirty, and it was understandable that he was disliked.

But now, Shen Gusi felt like he was standing naked in front of everyone, being misunderstood and being speculated about.

"No, I'm here to work." He explained, but his anxious look made others laugh.

They are just watching a joke, without any sympathy or pity. They are just venting their anger out of revenge after being treated unfairly.

Who made this person not have to do any work, but get paid twice as much as them every day and still work so hard?
