"i love your life," navi laughed as she chopped up some onions, making dinner. "you have a story for me daily. you're my source of entertainment."
you sighed as you leaned against the kitchen counter, resting your chin in your palm. after yesterday's event in the living room, you decided to spend the night at navi's apartment because you needed a breather.
"i had never felt so flustered in my life, navi," you groaned, remembering that your first kiss with taehyung was before yoongi, hoseok and namjoon. those three watched your roommate pull you into his lap as he made out with you.
"kim taehyung might be a fucking exhibitionist, you know?" she said, taking two tomatoes off the vegetable rack. you offered to help her, but she refused and even stopped your attempts. "you clearly have a thing for watching others-"
"i do not!" you interjected, but your best friend wasn't having it.
"don't bother lying to yourself. you're a voyeur, y/n. or at least you've got a little voyeurism in you," she told you, glaring with her knife pointed at you. "but as i was saying. you have a thing for watching others, and i think kim taehyung does, too. but something in my gut tells me he likes being watched, too."
"can we not talk about mine and my roommate's kinks?" you groaned, causing her to cackle as she cut the tomatoes. "you know—sorry for mentioning him, but when you were dating bruce, you used to talk about sex and these things so openly."
"i don't know... i think being with the guys has changed me. talking about these things makes me feel shy and embarrassed even though i'm a grown adult, and i'm not exactly new to these things."
"it definitely has changed you, babe," she said, and the mood in the kitchen shifted. "your voice used to be so quiet when you spoke to me, even when we were alone. you'd hold back your laughter. you were constantly on edge, and your moves were always calculated, no matter how mundane the things we did were. being in that house caused you to relax and become more vocal and experimental. you're fucking modelling right now! those guys are bringing out the girl i hoped would come out one day."
you were afraid to admit it, but she was right.
reaching out to seokjin and choosing to move in, even after learning you'd be living with seven others, was the best decision you've ever made. otherwise, you'd still be stuck at your aunt's house, tiptoeing around everyone because of your past trauma—and you never would've met the amazing men you were starting to fall for.
"i know... i know how much things, or better said...how much i've changed, and it's scaring me. i haven't even bonded with namjoon, taehyung, hoseok and seokjin like that, but i think i'm already in love with them, navi. what i feel for all of them is more than just attraction. i know it's more than infatuation," you explained, running your hands down your face. "i feel like everything's moving so fast."
"that's understandable. it's only been a few months since you broke up with bruce, and you're already in love with seven men," she shrugged, putting the dinner-making process aside to focus solely on you. "you might think you're moving too fast, but honestly, i think the pace you're going at is just fine. not every relationship follows the same timeline. just because it took longer to feel certain things or make certain decisions in your previous relationship doesn't mean it has to be the same now."
she leaned forward on the counter. "some people get married six months after meeting, and sure, people love to say those marriages won't last. but in the end, it depends on the people involved, not some arbitrary timeline. everyone moves at their own pace, girl. and honestly, i think yours is fine."
you nibbled on your bottom lip as you thought. "but what if the guys think it's too fast?" the love your roommates have for each other took years. what would they think of a girl they've known for less than a year claiming she loved them?
"then that's where communication comes in," your best friend replied without missing a beat. "if you feel unsure, talk to them. relationships like yours will need a lot of open communication to keep them strong. you can't just bottle up and keep things to yourself, hoping they'll work themselves out."
you nodded, absorbing her words, but navi wasn't finished. "and about this whole 'love' thing... you might be surprised. one of them—if not all might feel the same way. you won't know until you say something."
"you think?" you asked, feeling a lot better. God, you were so grateful for your best friend.
she shrugged, a teasing smile on her lips. "from what i've seen, yeah. but remember to take one step at a time, girl."

"this feels... empty," jungkook said, sitting between seokjin and namjoon. he glanced around the living room where they sat. jimin was curled up next to hoseok, pressing gentle kisses along his neck. yoongi, who had just come from work, sat between taehyung's legs at the edge of the couch, his head resting against the younger's shoulder. all his boyfriends were, but he couldn't ignore the little ache in his heart—wishing the girl he had grown to like was with them.
"it's going to feel so weird to go to work tomorrow without y/n in the car with me," namjoon sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "who'll participate in the radio game shows with me now?"
it had become a routine for you and namjoon to try and answer the questions asked by the radio host to a contestant who was trying to win something.
"speaking of y/n... i think— no, i'm in love with her," jimin announced, his voice steady, but all the guys could tell he was nervous. his eyes always betrayed him. "i know she hasn't been here for long, but there's no denying that what i feel is definitely more than a crush."
the living room fell silent as his boyfriends processed his words. jimin had sat up, sighing as he ran his fingers through his hair. "yesterday," he continued, "she told me she liked being here with me—with us. i thought about how much i did, too. then i realised i loved it. i realised i loved her." his tone softened as he took in his own words. he loved you. "her not being here, in the house, feels so off. fuck, i can't imagine life without y/n."
once he was sure the younger was done, yoongi spoke first. "does she know you love her?"
"God, no. she'll think i'm crazy saying 'i love you' before officially asking her out," he chuckled, his heartbeat increasing at the thought of you knowing how deep his feelings were. "i'm waiting until everyone has gone on a date before i start dropping the l-word."
"you know... i don't think she'll think you're crazy," namjoon said. "she knows you're waiting for us."
"why is this so complicated?" jimin groaned so loudly, realising how crazy this situation was. he wanted to be with you—to officially call you his, but he couldn't do that without all the guys being okay and comfortable with you. "i'm so sorry my heart decided to let someone new in, and now-"
"we've discussed this, jimin," seokjin said warningly, cutting him off. "don't apologise for the way you feel. catching feelings for y/n is understandable. falling for her makes sense. that woman is not only gorgeous, but she's fun to be around. she's kind, driven, hardworking and can somehow make even the most mundane things interesting. do you remember how she had us laughing over that disaster of a movie night last week?"
the movie jungkook picked was supposed to be a comedic horror with the perfect balance of comedy and gory horror. it turned out to be a whole 2 hours of nothing, so to make it more bearable, you'd make comments and recreate the trashy scenes which saved the night.
"y/n's an overall incredible woman with a character that's impossible to dislike, jimin," he continued. "looking at that woman and knowing us—we were bound to catch feelings for her. you just happened to be the first one."
"a relationship like ours will never be easy, but that's the beauty of it," hoseok said, pausing to quickly kiss his boyfriend's lips. "don't forget the seven of us getting to this point was just as complicated, baby. but look at us, now, we've figured everything out, and we're doing great!"
"i fucking love you, guys," he told them, a huge smile on his face. he wasn't sure why he was so worried about the nature of their relationship with you like he hadn't been through something similar with the others when they first started dating. "with everything in me."
'and i love you too, y/n,' he thought. he couldn't wait for the day they would officially make you theirs. he couldn't wait for the day they would officially be yours.
