Chan's pov:
"Okay. Elliott, it's bedtime for you in half an hour."
"But I can play until den, wight?" Elliott asked.
"Yes."
I watched as Elliott ran over to where Juno was playing on the floor.
"Umm. Can you play wif me before I haf to go sleepy?" Elliott asked.
Juno seemed to be socially done. I don't think he really wanted to play with Elliott, but he didn't want to hurt his feelings, so he agreed.
Elliott and Juno do love each other, but sometimes it can be frustrating to have to play with younger kids when you want to just play on your own.
Elliott took Juno's crayons without thinking it would be annoying.
Juno pressed his lips together, trying to be patient, but then Elliott leaned forward and reached over, drawing a big scribble across Juno's picture.
I went over quickly to tell Elliott to draw on a different piece of paper.
But the damage was already done.
Juno snatched the paper away and I could see his face fill with a deep sadness, as if he had an emotional connection to his drawing.
He suddenly screamed at Elliott.
"DON'T TOUCH MY PICTURE! GET YOUR OWN!"
I was honestly shocked. I've NEVER heard him get so mad or so loud. Even when Juno was being a little bad, he was never loud like that or poorly mannered in front of people.
And very soon, I saw exactly why.
Hyunjin bolted into the room with a very unhappy expression.
Juno jumped up and ran to the other side of the table to get away from him.
I went and picked up Elliott as he started crying again.
Hyunjin went around the table to grab Juno.
"Wait daddy! Can't we talk about this?" Juno begged as he ran around the table and to the living room.
Hyunjin quickly followed him, and even I felt a bit scared for him.
"Jin, I think he's just tired. Elliott did wreck his picture." I explained.
Hyunjin seemed a bit annoyed.
"I know, but he knows better than to act like this, and he won't be excused for it." Hyunjin said.
I put my palm up, signaling defeat. "Your kid, your rules." I said.
I followed as Hyunjin went to the living room to get Juno.
Juno had run to hide underneath his grandpa's arm.
In my opinion, that's a pretty smart move, because JoJo's dad could potentially rescue Juno from punishment if Hyunjin felt intimidated.
"Grandpa save me!" Juno begged.
His grandpa was about to respond when Hyunjin put his foot down.
Thankfully only JoJo and her parents and Amelia were still in the living room.
"You are getting a spanking, and then you are going straight to bed." Hyunjin said forcefully.
"But mommy didn't say that." Juno said.
"Your mom gave you a scolding and a time out already. That should've been enough, and you should've smartened up."
"Grandpa help me!" Juno pleaded.
