October 2027
I opened my eyes. Da morning sun shined bwightly through da big window.
I so excited fo- today.
I wuv evewy day, but today is gonna be da best day.
My cousin is coming tomorrow! Jus one mo- sleep!
I kicked my legs excitedly as I waited fo- Mommy and Daddy to wake up.
I looked around da room. Evewything is bwight and sunny.
Our house is like a jungle of boxes stacked on top of each other.
Mommy is asleep on Daddy's arm, and I'm tucked between dem.
I sitted up and bounced up and down.
Mommy and Daddy didn't wake up.
I crawled on top of da blankets and sat on Daddy's chest. I must be heavy now. I'm 3 and a half yeaws old!
He opened one eye.
I jumped on him happily.
He wuffled my hair.
"Mo' ning Daddy!" I said.
"Shhh" Daddy said, tapping his finger to his lips.
I like to copy Daddy.
I furrowed my brows. "Shhh!" I copied, tapping my finger to my lips.
Daddy nodded.
He looked at mommy. Den he put his hand on her cheek, and ran his thumb back and forth.
So I did the same thing to Mommy.
Daddy smiled a little.
Den he kissed Mommy's head.
So I kissed Mommy's head too.
Den Daddy pulled me toward him and kissed me too.
I giggled.
"Shhh." He said again.
Den he put his head back on his pillow to go back to sleep.
I don't wanna sleep. I wanna play now.
I wiggled to the edge of the bed, and den slid off like a slide.
I went to get Booboo.
Booboo is my imaginawy fwiend. Well, not weally. She's a stuffed tiger. But of all my stuffed animals, Booboo is my best fwiend.
Da floor was a bit cold to step on. Luckily I have my sockies on.
I picked up Booboo and put her on da bed.
Den I picked up as many stuffies as my arms could carry, and I put dem on da bed too.
I pulled myself back up, and I sitted on da bed, narrating fo- my toys. My toys haven't learned to talk yet, so I do it fo- dem.
"Hewwo mr. Bear." Said Booboo.
"Hewwo Booboo." Said mr. Bear.
I played for a while, but Mr. Bear was starting to be mean, so I put him in time out on da chair, like Mommy does to me sometimes.
Then I felt a bit hungwy.
I cwawled back on da bed.
"Mommy."
"Mommy"
"Moooommmmy" I whispered.
Mommy turned to me. "Good morning, sunshine." She whispered.
