Juno's POV:

I waited by the main entrance at my school and looked out the window as far down the street as I could for Daddy's car.

As soon as he pulled up, I ran out the door and skidded to a stop. I looked both ways and there were no cars coming, so I bolted across the street. Then I ran down the block and hopped into the backseat of the car.

Teddie was squished into the middle seat, and Poppy was in the other end seat.

"Hi Teddie Bear." I said, pulling Teddie's face toward mine and rubbing our noses together.

Teddie whined and pulled away, but then he started giggling. He always pretends not to like when I do that to him.

"How was school?" Daddy asked from the front seat.

"Boring." I said, slumping back into the seat as I put my seat belt on. "I wanted to be on a team with Zachary for science, but I got put on a team with Rosie instead. And we'll be on the same team tomorrow."

"Oh. Are you sure Rosie's not fun too?" Daddy asked.

"No. She doesn't talk."

"Well, have you tried maybe asking her questions?"

I hummed. "Not really."

"Well maybe she IS fun, but is just shy."

"Daddy, everyone thinks she's weird." I explained.

Daddy made a disappointed expression. "Well then everyone is being prejudice." He said.

"I don't know that word." I sighed.

"It means to pre judge something. To judge without truly knowing. It's making an opinion of someone based on an idea you have of them, rather than a fact." Daddy explained.

"Wellll, I think it's actually a fact because everyone says so." I explained, trying to make Daddy understand.

Daddy hummed... "What do you know with 100% certainty about Rosie?"

"Well, she's weird."

"No. That's not a fact."

I sighed. "Well, she's quiet." I said.

"Okay. What else?"

"I mean, I know she has brown hair."

"Okay. And what else?"

I tried to think really hard. "I know she wears a lot of purple."

"Okay, so you know she has brown hair, she's quiet, and she likes purple." Daddy confirmed.

I nodded.

"So tomorrow, maybe you could start by asking her if purple is her favourite colour!" Daddy said happily. "Then you could be friends."

Obviously my dad doesn't get it. "Dad, purple is my LEAST favourite colour. So I don't think we'll get along." I explained.

"Junny, you don't need to have the same favourite colour to get along. All you need is to be open minded. Be nice, and see if being nice helps her to talk more."

"Fine." I said, not convinced that it would really work. "I'll ask her about her favourite colour tomorrow."

"Good. You'll be happy you tried." Daddy said. "Now, besides boring, how was school?"

"Well," I smiled. "Teacher gave us the results from our math test, and I was the top of our class!" I said excitedly.

"Woah! Way to go! That's awesome. You've worked really hard on your math this year, didn't you?" Asked Daddy.
